It is reported that the Kunshan Lumeng Children's Rehabilitation Center project is located in kunshan rehabilitation hospital, with a construction area of about 20,000 square meters, which can treat 600 disabled children at the same time after completion, and the project is expected to start construction in mid-2022.

At present, there are 3489 disabled children in Kunshan with an age span between 0 and 18 years old, and for disabled children aged 0-6 years old, their nerve function recovery is strongly plastic and the rehabilitation effect is good, and the rehabilitation training of this age group is called rescue rehabilitation. Affected by hardware and other factors, Kunshan Rehabilitation Hospital can only undertake the rehabilitation treatment of 150 disabled children, and many children cannot receive treatment in time, and the recovery situation is not optimistic.

Zhang Cong, president of Kunshan Rehabilitation Hospital, said that at present, the Lumeng Children's Rehabilitation Center project is in the program design stage, according to the preliminary design plan, Kunshan Lumeng Children's Rehabilitation Center will mainly carry out physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, sensory integration, physiotherapy, spa, special education, collective classes and other treatment projects, and will introduce virtual VR instruments to enrich the treatment methods. The center pays attention to the creation of children's psychological environment, and adds rehabilitation areas such as daily life ability training areas and scenario simulation training rooms. It will also improve the supporting facilities, equipped with parent rest and waiting areas, stroller parking places, children's lockers, therapists' lounges, medical staff demonstration classrooms, parent reception and communication rooms and other areas.

"In the next step, we will change the service concept, optimize the allocation of rehabilitation resources, promote the infrastructure of Lumeng Children's Rehabilitation Center with high quality, and actively dock with Shanghai's high-end and high-quality medical resources, optimize the rehabilitation medical service model, strengthen the construction of rehabilitation system, greatly improve the city's children's rehabilitation medical service capacity, and promote the high-quality development of children's rehabilitation medical services." In order to accelerate the construction of Kunshan Lumeng Children's Rehabilitation Center, the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government intend to include the project in the actual project in 2022.
