During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, there were three major uprisings in Shandong, namely the Black Iron Mountain Uprising, the Tianfushan Uprising and the Laoshan Uprising, and after the three uprisings, there was the fourth major uprising, which was the Weihai Uprising.
The Weihai Uprising took place on January 15, 1938, and was a successful anti-Japanese armed uprising launched by the Jiaodong Special Committee and the Weihai Local Party Organization in Weihai. It was half a month later than the Laoshan Uprising.
The main leaders of the Weihai uprising were Li Qi, secretary of the Jiaodong Special Committee, Lu Zhiheng, deputy secretary of the Special Commission, Lin Yishan, member of the special committee, Sun Duanfu, director general of the Kuomintang Weihai Political Training Office, and Yuan Shiruo, commander of the "Minxian" Weihaiwei Local Unit.
The figure I want to talk to you about today is the glorious deeds of Sun Duanfu, former director general of the Weihai Political Training Office of the Kuomintang, who participated in the Weihai uprising.
Born in 1911 in Shangqiu, Henan, Sun Duanfu went to Beiping to study at a young age and later entered the Law School of Peking University. During his studies, he pursued progress, especially during the critical period of the rise and fall of the nation, and he actively participated in the anti-Japanese salvation movement led by our party and became the backbone of it.
After graduating from university, Sun Duanfu taught for a period of time at Fushan County Middle School in Shandong Province through family ties, and then entered the military and political organs and became the director general of the Weihai Political Training Office of the Kuomintang.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Sun Duanfu and Li Qi, secretary of the Shandong Jiaodong Special Committee, became acquainted, gradually became close friends, were influenced by Marxism-Leninism, determined to revolution, and joined the organization in the same year, and officially embarked on the road of revolution.
At that time, the Japanese army was preparing to land on the Shandong Peninsula, and the situation in Weihai was tense. Sun Duanfu took advantage of the relationship of Sun Xifeng, commissioner of the Kuomintang Weihai Administrative Office, to obtain some guns, arm more than 20 people in the Political Training Office to prevent accidents, and under the leadership of the Jiaodong Special Committee, he did a great deal of work to win the participation of the naval teaching team and the Weihai City Security Brigade in the Weihai uprising.
On January 15, 1938, Sun Duanfu led the officers and men of the Political Training Office to participate in the Weihai Uprising and served as the commander of the first brigade of the Third Army of the Shandong People's Anti-Japanese Salvation Army.
Subsequently, under the leadership of Li Qi, secretary of the Jiaodong Special Committee, Sun Duanfu led the first brigade to preemptively attack the county town of Muping county under the Japanese and puppet occupation, captured the puppet county magistrate Song Jianwu alive, captured more than 100 puppet troops, captured nearly 100 guns, and won a preliminary victory in the battle.
After the siege ended, the troops withdrew to the Lei Temple 3 miles southeast of Muping County to rest, when Li Qi and Sun Duanfu studied the next move, due to the negligence of the sentries, the troops were surrounded by Japanese troops who were tracking and chasing. The battle of the breakthrough lasted from noon to night, and more than 20 officers and men of the first brigade killed and wounded more than 50 Japanese troops, but unfortunately Comrade Li Qi died heroically in the battle.
Later, under the leadership of Sun Duanfu, the soldiers of the first brigade finally broke out of the encirclement of the Japanese army at night and preserved the living strength of the troops. The Battle of Lei Temple also fired the first shot of the Jiaodong War of Resistance.
Later, this unit developed into the Forty-first Army, which was the original "tinder" of the Plapus' ace Forty-first Army, and the famous "Tashan Hero Regiment" came from this army.
After Sun Duanfu led his troops to break through, they were combined with the guerrillas in Penglai and Yexian to form the eighth detachment of the Third Army. Since then, he has successively served as the county magistrate of Penglai County, the commander of the North Naval Sub-district of the Jiaodong Military Region, the commander of the East China Sea Military Region and the commissioner of the East China Sea District Special Office, and the commander of the North Naval Sub-district and the commissioner of the Beihai District Special Office.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Sun Duanfu served as the commander of the Third Brigade of the Jiaodong Military Region, the commander of the 27th Division of the Ninth Column of the East China Field Army, and the commander of the 81st Division of the 27th Army, and participated in the Battle of Shanghai.
After that, Sun Duanfu led his troops to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Throughout the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the 81st Division he led became the only formed unit of the U.S. Army Corps (the 31st Regiment of the 7th Infantry Division known as the Polar Bear Regiment) annihilated by the Volunteer Army.
In 1955, Sun Duanfu went from being a peking university student to finally becoming a founding major general.
On June 8, 1974, because Sun Duanwu bravely killed the enemy in the long-term revolutionary war, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served the people diligently and sincerely until the last few years of his life, and he continued to work with illness, unfortunately died of illness at the age of 63.
