One of the teachers is Li Guanxiu, who also has another identity - the mother of two children with severe hearing impairment.
She said that through the help of the Jiangmen Special Children Rehabilitation Education Center, the two children successfully brought cochlear implants, hearing aids, and received rehabilitation education, and can now communicate smoothly with others. Li Guanxiu's children have now enrolled in ordinary primary schools, and have participated in recitation competitions many times and achieved good results. Since its establishment in 2003, Jiangmen Special Children Rehabilitation Education Center has been committed to providing free rescue rehabilitation education services for children with hearing impairment, autism, intellectual disability and cerebral palsy in Jiangmen City.
In the past five years, the center has provided educational services for more than 500 (more than 1,000 person-times) of preschool disabled children, and after professional rehabilitation education training, about 200 disabled children have been successfully referred to the general kindergarten, of which the average enrollment rate of hearing impaired children exceeds 85%.
