A book a day
The remnants and courtiers of the early Qing Dynasty
-Introduction-
This book is Xie Zhengguang's second collection of academic essays after "Doubts about stopping clouds".
In historical China, whenever there was a change of dynasty, the provenance of scholars became the biggest ethical issue for intellectuals, and it also became the focus of discussion among intellectuals in the future. As far as the more recent history is concerned, the choice of scholars in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties still affects the hearts of today's people. However, those who have always discussed this issue have mostly held the argument that the boundaries between the remnants and the second ministers are clear and that water and fire are incompatible, and Xie Zhengguang pointed out that this is not a historical fact, and the early Qing Dynasty's Heavy Yixia distinction is like Gu Yanwu, who also has a lot of contacts with the ministers of the new dynasty.
The articles collected in this book, that is, abandoning the use of "political ethics" as a one-way discussion and interpretation, try to examine the social relations between the remnants and the courtiers, the direction of governance, the daily use of morality, temperament and interest, etc., and deduce the situation and the reason for the intersection, showing the circle and historical reality of the early Qing Dynasty literati who are far more complex than general cognition.
