Recently, the Sanmenxia Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, in coordination with local infrastructure, found a large group of Warring States period tombs. It is reported that the tomb group may be an early public cemetery in the Wei Kingdom, and it is expected that more than 200 will be excavated, and more exquisite burial items will be unearthed. One of the bronze chimes unearthed is the first bronze chimes of the Warring States period discovered after the establishment of Sanmenxia.

According to Yan Fei, director of the business office of the Sanmenxia Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, more than 600 tombs have been drilled in the construction area of the site, and more than 170 have been excavated, and the excavated tombs include the Warring States, Western Han, Eastern Han, Tang, Ming and Qing dynasties and other periods. Among them, the most valuable is the Warring States period tomb group, which is more than 2,000 years away, and it is expected to reach more than 200.

The tombs of the Warring States period were arranged in a relatively orderly and orderly manner, and there was no breaking phenomenon between them. All are rectangular vertical pit tombs, mainly north and east, almost all have burial tools, single upright burial, unearthed more exquisite burial items, including copper ding, copper mane, copper boat and other ceremonial utensils; copper car, car jurisdiction, car title and other carriage and horse tools; copper ge, copper halberd, copper axe and other weapons; copper chimes, stone chimes and other musical instruments, as well as jade pillars, stone gui, bone nails, etc., have high historical and cultural value.

Among them, so far, the largest specification tomb has been found to be a heavy coffin, the tomb owner is leaning on his back and straight, female, there are 5 pieces of copper in the burial utensils, and the inferred identity is more noble, but the specific identity information has not yet been determined. In addition, copper plates, jade beads, coal essences, agate charms and so on have been unearthed.
It is worth mentioning that there is a bronze chime ceremonial instrument unearthed in this excavation, which is the first time that a bronze chime in the Warring States period has been found after the establishment of Sanmenxia City.

According to Yan Fei, according to historical records, the Sanmenxia area was occupied by Wei, Qin and Han during the Warring States period. The cemetery may be a public cemetery in the early Wei dynasty. The discovery of the cemetery provides important archaeological data for the study of the historical and cultural features of the pre-Qin period in western Henan, the material life materials of people at that time, the layout of the early Warring States cemetery, and the changes in the forces of the three kingdoms of Wei, Qin and Han, and also highlights the important geographical and military status of the region.
