Recently, Sambe's interview "Sambe: A Pictorial Musician" was launched by Shanghai Translation Publishing House. Sambe's work was made into an official French commemorative coin and was used by the French Minister of Culture as a New Year's greeting card.
Sambe's indissoluble relationship with music can be told from the radio in his childhood home, through which he discovered the magic of jazz and the most interesting jazz musicians.
Even if his parents quarreled, he felt that it didn't matter, because in the world he imagined, he became a member of a jazz band, going north and south to perform everywhere. He uses music to soothe his sensitive mind and get rid of the unhappy childhood.
Sambe eventually became a cartoonist, but music gave him countless inspirations. He spoke of his beloved musicians, Debussy, the Duke of Ellington, Ravel...
He recalls playing Gershwin's Lover for the first time, discovering for the first time that a magical record could hold "the whole band down", and the first time inviting Gossini, the author of "Little Naughty Nicholas," to his house to listen to songs.
The book is a collection of sambe's unpublished works on musical themes, accompanied by a 30,000-word interview. This book is Sambe's highest tribute to music.
Journalist recommended
1. "Sambe: A Painter musician" is similar to the previously published "Childhood" and "Sambe in New York", accompanied by a 30,000-word interview on the theme of music, in the form of a combination of graphics and text.
2. The whole book is printed in four colors and full color, and the text uses 120g of oriental elegant rhymes, hardcover.
3. Sambe's favorite is music, but his family is poor when he is young, and his parents have no money for him to learn musical instruments. In contrast, painting is much easier, and with just a piece of paper and a pen, Sambe can unleash his artistic talents. But he still had music in mind, so in his lifelong creative career, he painted all kinds of people who played musical instruments, from the famous Duke of Wellington, Schubert, etc., to children who were unhappy with practicing the piano, and men and women and children who found the joy of life in music. Each painting embodies Sambe's love for music.
4. A music lesson by the comic book master Sambet, The Duke of Debussy, Ravel, and Ellington in Sambe's eyes. 、
5. A musical feast of a painting version.
