One day is The Jinyi Guard, and the whole life is the Jinyi Guard!
When it comes to the Ming Dynasty, the first thing that comes to mind is the Jinyi Guard, which is the standard of the Ming Dynasty. Jinyiwei, together with the East Factory and the West Factory, became the three major secret service organizations of the Ming Dynasty, and was a dark cloud hanging over the sky of the Ming Dynasty.
In the early days of entrepreneurship, Zhu Yuanzhang set up the Arch Guard Division in order to collect intelligence. Later, the Gongwei Division was renamed the Pro-Military Governor's Mansion, and they mainly had two characters, one was to collect intelligence, and the other was to act as a bodyguard to protect the emperor's safety.
In the fifteenth year of Hongwu (1382 AD), Zhu Yuanzhang renamed the pro-military Duwei Mansion to Jinyiwei, and since then Jinyiwei has become a beautiful landscape of the Ming Dynasty, which has been running through the entire Ming Dynasty, and everyone talks about the change of color of Jinyiwei, and they are very afraid of Jinyiwei.
The main tasks of the Jinyi Guard are three, the first is to supervise the hundred officials, the second is to try the case and the prison, and the third is to protect the emperor. Because Jinyiwei was the emperor's personal bodyguard, directly under the emperor's command and not supervised by others, Jinyiwei abused his power and gradually expanded and was lawless.
Jinyiwei's initial job was simply to collect intelligence, and then gradually became a supervision of hundreds of officials, Zhu Yuanzhang asked Jinyiwei to supervise the hundred officials' every move, and then reported to him.
Zhu Yuanzhang was a very suspicious person, and he was always worried that the hundred officials would say bad things about him behind his back, so he had to supervise the hundred officials, and whenever someone said that he was, Zhu Yuanzhang would catch one and kill one, and he would never be soft.00
In order to strengthen his rule, the Ming emperor expanded the Jinyi guards on a large scale, allowing them to walk around the country and monitor every move of the whole country. The scale of Jinyiwei was very large, and until the end of the Ming Dynasty, there were still 150,000 Jinyiwei people.
So where did these guards go? Some of the Jinyi guards were more loyal and martyred, some went home, and some continued to serve as jinyi guards and served the Qing Dynasty. As we all know, the Qing Dynasty inherited the Ming system, and the Qing Dynasty copied the entire set of the Ming Dynasty as usual, but some places made changes, such as the "Great Ming Law" changed to the "Great Qing Law", changing a word.
Jinyiwei was an official position of the Ming Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty also inherited it, but some changes were made later.
In the second year of Shunzhi, Shunzhi changed the Jinyi Guard to Luan Yiwei, and their task was one less, no need to supervise hundreds of officials, only responsible for the emperor's dependence, to protect the emperor's safety.
When Qianlong traveled, luan Yiwei around him was the Jinyi guard of that year, but his name was changed!
