At the beginning of 1945, Chiang Kai-shek suddenly issued an edict that "Xu Enzeng, the head of the secret service who presided over the Central Unification for 15 years, was removed from all positions and would never be hired." Many people were confused about Xu Enzeng's fall from favor, and the Central Bureau of Statistics was once panicked and could not even carry out its work. The reasons behind this are not complicated, and some of Xu Enzeng's actions have caused Serious Dissatisfaction with Chiang Kai-shek.
In fact, before 1941, Chiang Kai-shek had always thought that Xu Enzeng's work ability was good, but the secret service activities of the later military unification far exceeded that of the Central Unification, because Xu Enzeng was not willing to concentrate on spying work as his responsibility consistently like Dai Kasa.
In 1941, Xu En was appointed vice minister of the Ministry of Communications and concurrently served as the director of the Central Command. Chiang Kai-shek specially summoned Xu Enzeng and warned him in a serious tone: "The purpose of appointing you as vice minister of communications is to enable you to take advantage of the convenience of the post of vice minister of communications to strengthen the espionage work of the Central Command in railways, highways, ships, aircraft, and other systems, and to establish a systematic and comprehensive reconnaissance network." ”
However, Xu Enzeng later forgot Chiang Kai-shek's instructions and tried to use the power of the Central Unification to climb up. Deep in His heart, Xu Enzen hated the darkness of the Secret Service and had always wanted to appear in public. After becoming vice minister of the Ministry of Communications, Xu En made contacts everywhere to prepare for the election of minister of economy, ignoring the activities of secret agents, resulting in loopholes in the work of central unification.
Chiang Kai-shek was very unhappy when he learned of this, believing that Xu Enzeng did not listen to commands and did not work properly. As we all know, Xu Enzhen became the leader of the Central Unification with the help of Chen Guofu and Chen Lifu brothers, and he was naturally very grateful to the Chen brothers. However, in order to become the minister of economy, Xu Enzeng gradually alienated the Chen brothers, and he made a good deal with Wu Tie, the secretary general of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and obtained the position of vice minister of communications at the recommendation of Wu Tiecheng.
Although the Chen brothers expressed dissatisfaction with Xu En's former position as vice minister of communications, they also believed that this would be conducive to the development of espionage, so they temporarily remained silent.
When Xu Enzeng won the post of Minister of Economy, it aroused the anger of the Chen brothers, because Chen Lifu happened to want to seek the post of Minister of Economy. When the Chen brothers saw that Xu En had clashed with their interests, they did not speak for Xu Enzeng in front of Chiang Kai-shek.
Moreover, Xu Enzeng was once a womanizer himself, and he had two wives. Later, she also fell in love with a good-looking and versatile female student named Fei Xia, who studied in the Soviet Union in her early years, and during the Soviet Union, she joined the Chinese Communist Party. After returning from studying abroad, Fei Xia worked in the Shanghai organ of the Communist Party of China. In 1931, after Gu Shunzhang was arrested, he defected to the enemy, and Fei Xia was also arrested, and under gu Shunzhang's persuasion, Fei Xia immediately defected to the enemy.
If Xu En had simply interacted with Fei Xia, it would have been enough, but she had to insist on marrying Fei Xia. The Chen brothers, who were in charge of the Kuomintang's party affairs and the work of central unification, unanimously believed that Xu En's move was wrong, and they were worried that Fei Xia's traitor status would be detrimental to the work of the central unification agents. Therefore, the Chen brothers advised Xu En to put his career first and not to marry Fei Xia.
Unexpectedly, Xu En had already come back to life with Fei Xia's love, and he even said to the Chen brothers: Even if he is not the leader of the Central Unification, he will marry Fei Xia.
The Chen brothers had no choice but to report to Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Kai-shek also thought that this matter was not trivial, if Fei Xia pretended to surrender, then he could not marry Fei Xia under any circumstances, so he summoned Xu Enzeng and asked: "Can you ensure that she has no problem?" ”
Xu Insisted There was no problem. Chiang Kai-shek saw that he was resolute and had no choice but to agree to their marriage. In the matter of marrying Fei Xia, Xu Enzeng had already rebelled against Chiang Kai-shek's will, and Chiang Kai-shek gradually distrusted him more and more. The next three events that happened completely made Chiang Kai-shek abandon Xu Enzeng.
First, during an important meeting of the Kuomintang, the Central Party Department unexpectedly appeared with the slogan "The president is dictatorial, and the Central Committee is not right." Xu Enzeng traced it for many days, but did not find out the reason, and had to go to the old Chiang Kai-shek to apologize.
Second, in the winter of 1943, the military commander, who had always been at odds with the Central Command, secretly reported to Chiang Kai-shek that Xu Enzeng's second wife, Wang Suqing, was engaged in illegal activities such as usury and murder in Chengdu. Subsequently, Chiang Kai-shek denounced Xu Enzeng at a high-level meeting that "you should be punished", which was another beating of Xu Enzeng by xu Enzeng's wife's illegal behavior.
Third, in April 1944, Chiang Kai-shek personally presided over a briefing meeting on military, police, constitutional, and special senior intelligence, and asked the Central Committee to give a briefing on the armed development of the Eighth Route Army behind enemy lines. Because Xu En had not made sufficient preparations in advance, he was unable to answer clearly at the meeting; on the contrary, Dai Kasa was fully prepared and reported the armed situation of the Eighth Route Army clearly. Chiang Kai-shek was furious and severely criticized Xu Enzeng.
In the case of Xu En's repeated dereliction of duty, Chiang Kai-shek finally issued the order to remove him from all his posts and instead vigorously reused Dai Kasa.
After being dismissed by Lao Jiang, Xu En used his business talent to devote himself to the mall and soon became rich.
Ironically, however, Dai died in a plane crash in March 1946, his whole body charred, while Xu En, a wealthy businessman, died in 1985 after going to Taiwan. It can be said that Saion lost his horse, and he knew that it was not a blessing!
