The founding of New China was the result of the struggle of many revolutionary predecessors with their lives, but there were also countless traitors. They have chosen the wrong path, and they are bound to face a tragic end. Today I want to introduce a traitor, he was once a major representative, later defected to old Chiang, served as the acting chairman of the Wang puppet regime during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and eventually became the second big traitor, his name is Chen Gongbo.
Chen Gongbo, born in 1892 in Beimen, Guangzhou, his family's ancestral home is in Shanghang, Fujian Province, his father Chen Zhimei was the governor of Guangxi, and he was the only son of his father when he was 60 years old, so he was favored and enjoyed the glory and wealth early on. He was also able to read a lot of books and receive an early education, Chen Gongbo was very smart and excellent, and his teacher Liang Xuetao often told him some new ideas.
Later, he entered the Philosophy Department of Peking University to study, accepted the baptism of various new ideas, and after graduating in 1920, he was eager to show his talents, so he returned to Guangdong and contacted his classmates to found the "Guangdong Qunbao", which caused a huge shock as soon as it was published.
Later, he became acquainted with Chen Duxiu, and together they formed the Guangzhou branch of the Communist Party. A major meeting held in July 1921 was held in Shanghai, and Chen Gongbo attended the meeting as a representative. But it didn't take long for him to break party discipline and later declare his departure from the party.
In 1925, Chen Gongbo joined the Chinese Kuomintang through the introduction of Liao Zhongkai and served as the secretary of the Party Department of the Party Central Committee. After that, he held an important position, but soon encountered obstacles to development, and Wang Jingwei repeatedly persuaded him, so he left for Chongqing together, floating in the political dye vat.
In 1914, the "National Government" was formed, and Chen Gongbo helped the Japanese army to brutalize countless progressive youth during his tenure in the Wang puppet government, and the masses resented him so much that the Kuomintang publicly announced his expulsion from the party. During Wang's medical treatment in Japan, he served as acting chairman.
In 1945, the Japanese army surrendered, the "Nanjing National Government" naturally perished, Chen Gongbo knew that the general trend was gone, immediately fled, hoping that the Japanese army could provide protection. However, the Kuomintang was always searching for his whereabouts, frightening him into committing suicide several times, and finally he was escorted back to China by the Japanese army.
So he was brought to trial and sentenced to death. After he went to prison, his entire family was nailed to the pillar of shame. His beautiful wife, Li Lizhuang, immediately fled the country, and his eldest son Chen Gan went to visit the prison many times, but he had no way to face his unrepentant father, and later went to the United States.
Chen Gan changed his name to Jack Liu, with his own efforts to work hard in a foreign country, he did not get involved in any bad habits, in the United States continue to struggle, and finally in the United States well-known electrical company as an executive, worth more than 100 million, after opening his own company, so that his mother can enjoy the old age in peace.
