Speaking of the prominent families in China, it can be said that the most important ones are the Confucius family and the Zhang family. The Confucius family is a descendant of Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, and the Zhang family is a descendant of Zhang Tianshi, the founder of Taoism. These two families have been passed down from their founding to the present. Because Confucianism and Taoism have a far-reaching influence on Chinese culture, these two schools can also be said to be the symbols of Our culture. So, how did the Kong family and the Zhang family behave during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression?
In 1937, the Japanese attacked Shandong and quickly occupied the whole of Shandong, and Han Fuyu withdrew. Qufu, Shandong, the seat of Confucius, was also occupied by the Japanese. At that time, Confucius was the 77th grandson of Confucius and the 31st generation of Yansheng Gong Kong Decheng. Of course, Because Kong Decheng's influence was too great, before the fall of Qufu, Chiang Kai-shek sent people to arrange for Kong Decheng and his wife to leave their hometown overnight. Chiang Kai-shek did this because he was afraid that the Japanese would use Kong Decheng. Later, Kong Decheng came to Wuhan to issue an anti-Japanese declaration. Later, he moved to Chongqing, presided over the establishment of the Confucius Society, organized famous artists, held discussions and lectures, and studied and promoted Confucius's academic thought and national spirit.
Although Kong Decheng was taken away, the Confucius Mansion was still there, and many descendants of the Kong family were in Qufu. The performance of these descendants can be said to really make everyone spurn. After the fall of Qufu, Kong Lingyu and others immediately invited the leaders of the Japanese invasion of China, Suchaku, Kubo, Okita, Kakegawa, Sutani, Nara, and others, in order to strengthen "Sino-Japanese friendship." When the Wang puppet regime was established, Kong Lingyu also sent a telegram to congratulate him. Three years after the establishment of the Wang puppet regime, Kong Lingyu immediately sent a telegram of congratulations, saying that Wang Jingwei "followed the legacy of the Father of the Nation, reclaimed the concessions and extraterritorial jurisdictions, and increased his international status from then on, and he had to keep pace with the world's powers. "As a descendant of the Kong family, when the country was in existence, he did such a thing, and he really didn't know how he could be worthy of his ancestors."
Let's take a look at how the descendants of The Taoist Zhang Tianshi behaved. In 1924, Zhang Enpu was in charge of the jade seal and the sword of the Heavenly Master Dao, and the Taoist circles called it the sixty-third generation of Heavenly Masters according to traditional customs. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he retired to Longhu Mountain. It can be said that during the entire War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhang Enpu was in the so-called retirement. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Enpu came out of the mountains, and in the winter of 1946, Zhang Enpu proposed the establishment of the Shanghai Taoist Church in Shanghai. Flaunting that "religion is the priority and unity is the priority", it proposes a plan to first produce local Taoist churches and then organize national Taoist churches. At the time of the survival of the country, Zhang Enpu, as a spiritual symbol, chose to retire, and he really did not know what he was thinking. However, even so, it was much better than the descendants of Kong Fu, at least not as a traitor.
In fact, in general, the performance of the Kong family and the Zhang family during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was not good. But the Zhang family is at least a little better than the Kong family.
