Tesla's new energy vehicle stores have quietly opened in Xinjiang. This is Tesla's first store in Xinjiang, and at this moment, Tesla's move can be described as intriguing.
1. Tesla stores have covered 60 cities in the mainland
Located at No. 1725 Zhenxing East Road, Midong District, Urumqi, the store covers an area of 1,620 square meters and can provide pre-sales consultation, pre-trial driving, new car testing, insurance consultation, pro-license processing, after-sales maintenance and other services for consumers in Urumqi and surrounding areas in Xinjiang.
The Urumqi Tesla Experience Center is Tesla's first store in Xinjiang and the 11th store in the northwest region, and Tesla currently has 211 stores nationwide, covering 60 cities in Chinese mainland.
Tesla has built 2 supercharger stations and 14 supercharger piles in Urumqi. Throughout Xinjiang, Tesla has built a total of 7 superchargering piles and 36 superchargering piles, with 6 destination charging piles and 12 destination charging piles, which can well protect the driving and charging experience of car owners.
2. The market share of domestic new energy vehicles is higher than 15%
Stores have opened in Xinjiang, and you can see how good Tesla's development in China really is. As Tesla's second largest market, Musk has always been very optimistic about the Chinese market.
In the third quarter of last year, Tesla's revenue in the Chinese market reached $3.113 billion, an increase of 78.5% year-on-year; in the first three quarters, Tesla achieved revenue of $9.015 billion in the Chinese market, accounting for about 25% of the global revenue, and China became Tesla's second largest market, second only to the United States.
In terms of Tesla's electric vehicle coverage, the proportion of China and the whole of Europe is close, all about 1%, that is, for every 100 Chinese cars, there is one Tesla electric vehicle, which is second only to the 1.6% of the United States and Canada.
In the domestic market, according to the data of the first half of last year, Tesla maintained a far leading position in china's new energy vehicle market share, which has been stable at more than 15%, and the second place SAIC motor's market share is only half of Tesla's, and the third and fourth places are Volkswagen and BYD, about 6%.
In addition to good car sales, Tesla's gigafactory in Lingang, Shanghai, is also helping Tesla quickly increase production capacity and occupy a leading position in the market.
Last year, Tesla produced more than 930,000 vehicles a year, while the lingang gigafactory produced more than 450,000 vehicles a year, becoming Tesla's veritable "right and left arm".
3, Tesla's wild hopes
For the development of China, Tesla is still modestly saying that their development in China is just starting out, for the future, they will continue to expand production capacity, continuously improve product quality, meet the needs of local consumers, and develop together with domestic car companies.
Tesla's huge ambitions can be seen in just a few words.
Tesla's global vice president Tao Lin has publicly stated that she hopes that models made in China will reach 100% localized productivity in the near future. In fact, as early as the end of 2019, the localization level of Tesla Model 3 parts reached 30%, if the parts can be fully localized, then Tesla's gross profit margin will be further improved, which will undoubtedly increase its competitiveness in China.
With the success of Tesla's gigafactory in Lingang, there is gossip that Tesla will open a second factory in China, to which Tesla did not respond, but it is certain that Tesla has other big moves in China.
Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory, in the middle of last year, released a new round of model project plans. Said that Tesla will begin to develop a new model at the end of this year, and this car is very different from the previous Model series, will be in China production and road tests, the price of this new Tesla car in the United States is expected to be between 25,000-30,000 US dollars, converted into 16-20 million yuan, intended to occupy the low-end market.
On Tesla's overseas social media platforms, Tesla can be seen about to release a brand new model called the Model Q. The model is positioned as a compact entry-level model, is expected to be officially launched in 2023, and has a starting price of $24,990, about 161,500 yuan, which is exactly the same as the new car mentioned above.
China is a must for the global new energy automobile industry and a central battlefield. Opening the Tesla center to Xinjiang highlights Musk's ambitions, in this part of China, quickly occupying market share, is the top priority, as for other disturbances, are noise.
