Kuo said Meta will release a new high-end VR headset, the Oculus Quest 3, in the second half of the year, with shipments expected to be 1-2 million units in 2022.
The report shows that the Quest 3 is the first Meta VR device to feature a MiniLED panel. MiniLED offers a better immersive experience, with the Quest 3 featuring two 2.48-inch MiniLED panels priced at $25–30 each and with a resolution of 2160x2160 from Sharp & JDI.

In addition, Kuo reiterated previously reported forecasts that Apple's AR/MR headsets will be postponed until the end of 2022, with significant shipments due to the first quarter of 2023.
According to the report, Apple's AR/MR uses two 3P Pancake lenses, each priced at $15–20 each, and if the contribution from the camera lens is included, each Apple AR/MR contributes about $45–55 to Yujingguang's revenue, which is equivalent to about 25–35 high-end 7P lenses.
Finally, Guo Mingxi predicts that Meta's VR will grow by about 30% yoy to 12 million units in 2022; Sony's PS5 VR has been shipped since 2Q22, and Yujingguang and Goertek are high-priced Fresnel lens suppliers (both of which have half of the order share). Apple's AR/MR will significantly contribute to the revenue momentum of YujingGuang since 1Q23. (Source: Tianfeng International Guo Mingxi)
