The carved fence jade should still be there, but Zhu Yan changed. —— Li Yu, "Yu Meiren"
China is a country with a long history, in such a vast river of time, the ancestors left a lot of valuable cultural heritage, allowing us to peek into the corner of history through these glimpses, uncover those mysterious past.
Among the many cultural relics, the royal relics are the most precious, many of these cultural relics are placed in the imperial tombs, and many are placed in the tombs of the princes, and the latter is naturally less popular than the former, so the protection is not as good as the former.
In such a situation, the profession of "tomb keeper" is particularly important, although the tomb keeper is extremely rare now, but in ancient times, almost every royal family's mausoleum would be guarded by people for generations, such as the tomb keeper of the fourteenth son of the Kangxi Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, who guarded the mausoleum for 84 years.
1. The fourteenth son of Kangxi Yinyu
As the founder of this prosperous era, Kangxi can be said to have contributed to the most glorious period of the Qing Dynasty, and after him, his fourth son, the Yongzheng Emperor, was also both morally and competent, and governed the country in an orderly manner.
Unfortunately, under the teachings of Kangxi, there was far more than one excellent child, so Yongzheng's throne was not easy to come by, but was obtained after experiencing the fight of "Nine Dragons".
At that time, many princes were eyeing the throne, so they played tricks in the open and in the dark, trying to go further away from this position.
Of course, not everyone involved has this strength, and among the "Nine Sons", only three people are the strongest competitors, that is, the four brothers, the eight brothers and the fourteen brothers.
Among them, the fourth brother and the fourteenth brother are compatriots of the same mother, and they are all born to concubines who are extremely favored by Kangxi, so it is reasonable to say that there is not much difference between the two brothers who fall on the throne, and they should work together to deal with the old eighth.
In fact, on the contrary, the fourteenth brother and the eighth brother are closer to each other, but they are very distant from their own brothers.
Of course, this is not for no reason, although the two mothers are the same, but when the fourth brother was born, the concubine position was not enough to raise the fourth brother personally, so the fourth brother grew up under the knees of others, did not enjoy the love of the biological mother, and did not have a close intersection with this brother.
Based on this, on the battlefield of the struggle for the throne, the two brothers did not give in to each other, and did not care at all whether the whole head would be broken and bleeding.
Originally, in the eyes of everyone, the fourteen brothers had the greatest chance of winning, after all, Kangxi loved him the most among these children.
However, when the battle for the concubine was about to come to an end, the Dzungars rebelled, and the fourteen brothers had to lead the troops to rehabilitate, and when he returned, he found that the conquest of the concubine had come to an end, and the fourth prince became the Yongzheng Emperor.
He was very angry about this, and felt that there must be something strange in this, so he refused to kneel after entering the palace, as a way to show that he did not recognize the new emperor.
However, at that time, Yongzheng was already the emperor, and it was easy for him to deal with the fourteenth brother, and after that, the fourteenth brother did not have a good day, he was put under house arrest, seized power, and deprived of the most spirited time. By the time Qianlong succeeded to the throne, he was finally released, but at this time he no longer had the youthful spirit of that year.
2. Liu Fuxin, the tomb keeper
When Qianlong was twenty years old, fourteen died, ending his life of great ups and downs.
Perhaps feeling ashamed of this fourteenth uncle, Qianlong was very attentive to the construction of his mausoleum, not only did everything be built according to the highest standards of the prince, but also specially arranged a family as a tomb keeper to accompany the mausoleum.
Time passed quickly, and the Qing Dynasty experienced prosperity and decline, and finally came to an end.
The imperial tomb is still silent in that remote place, but the people who guard the tomb have changed generation after generation, and Liu Fuxin is one of them.
Liu Fuxin, born in 1928, lives in a mysterious small village, although the people in the village look unremarkable, they have been engaged in the same job for generations, that is, shouling.
Liu Fuxin knew his mission when he was very young, but he was born too late, and the former glorious mausoleum has undergone historical changes and the devastation of war, and has become a fragment of broken walls and ruins.
Even if the mausoleum is destroyed, Liu Fuxin still adheres to his duties and mission of keeping the mausoleum.
For him, shouling was no longer a job, but a belief that melted into his blood, and he couldn't let such a belief break with him. In this regard, he also said: Although the Qing Dynasty has perished, I will continue to hold on.
Therefore, Liu Fuxin had to go to the mausoleum every day, rain or shine, and even when he was old and could not walk, he would still look at it with a cane, otherwise he would not be able to settle down all day.
Liu Fuxin never left this land and this mausoleum in his life, and even though he participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and was able to stay in a new city, he still resolutely chose to return to his hometown.
Liu Fuxin guarded the mausoleum for 84 years, which is a very unbelievable thing in the eyes of others, and many people have expressed doubts about it, not knowing what he is insisting on.
Third, the meaning of "keeping the tomb"
Perhaps for Liu Fuxin, the reason why he insisted on guarding the mausoleum for so many years was, on the one hand, because this was a belief handed down from his ancestors, and he had to pass it on, on the other hand, because there were many precious cultural relics in the mausoleum, and he could not let these cultural relics be destroyed.
Before the founding of New China, many cultural relics in our country were destroyed, some were burned to ashes in the war, and some were plundered by tomb robbers.
Liu Fuxin is very sad about such a thing, and he hopes that he can do his part to guard this mausoleum for the country and also guard the cultural wealth inside.
In 2003, the state specially sent people to Liu Fuxin's imperial tomb, and carried out a series of protection work to repair the imperial tomb.
Although the result is good, Liu Fuxin, as the last tomb keeper, is still full of regrets in his heart, because almost all of his descendants live in the county town, and no one is willing to return to this small village.
