On January 5th, the seminar on the novel "Playing Spring" with the theme of "Millennium Bay Area, Long Wind Opens the Road" was held in the "Lingnan Literature Space" of Guangdong Provincial Literature and Art Center.

The seminar was co-sponsored by the Creation research department of the Guangdong Writers Association, the Guangzhou Baiyun District Literary and Art Circles Federation and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary Review, and Jiang Shuzhuo, chairman of the Guangdong Writers Association, and Zhang Xiaohu, chairman of the Guangzhou Baiyun District Literary and Art Circles Federation, attended the seminar and delivered speeches.

According to reports, Zhang Chun, the author of "Fighting Spring", is a grassroots young writer in Baiyun District, and this creation selects the early Northern Song Dynasty as a cross-section of history, takes the land of Lingnan as the starting point of the story, and tells the history of the struggle of ordinary people in the form of a long novel.

The book shows the grand maritime trade in the Guangzhou area a thousand years ago, and also incorporates several typical materials in the economic history of the Northern Song Dynasty, such as the world's earliest paper money, the world's earliest market regulations ("Customs Law"), the influence of Song money overseas, etc., and also reproduces the ancients' "valuable stock exchange" and the unique format of Chaoshan millennium export porcelain.

"Fighting spring" is a Custom of the Northern Song Dynasty, which refers to a ritual of whipping the soil to mold spring cattle, which means to work hard in spring ploughing and look forward to harvesting together.

The novel takes the perspective of economic history and features "Lingnan style", interspersed with many southern customs and cultural elements.

In addition to the Chaozhou Song porcelain mentioned above, there are also Shaozhou Cen Water Farm, Lingnan Lychee, the "Flower Market Base" of Guangzhou in the Northern Song Dynasty, the ancient geography of Guangzhou Songcheng, folk food, dialect songs, etc., full of Lingnan style.

In addition, the integration of history into the "people's perspective" is another feature of the book, so that ordinary small people distributed in agriculture, industry and commerce all walks of life can be the protagonists, leading the development of the story, and showing the prosperity of society and the joy of the people through the perspective of ordinary people.

In Jiang Shuzhuo's view, the book can be said to be a root-seeking work in the Youth Bay Area, but also an opening work, "The port of Guangzhou, including Chaozhou, which she wrote about, has long been the center of world trade, and if it is pushed further forward, it can be pushed to Xu Wen in the Han Dynasty, reflecting that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has a very deep commercial foundation and cultural foundation." ”

Dong Shangde, professor of the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University, doctoral supervisor and librarian of the Guangzhou Museum of Culture and History, said that the theme chosen by the author of the novel is the theme of the "Maritime Silk Road" of the Northern Song Dynasty, which has both practical significance and historical basis.

"According to the research of historians, since the Tang And Song dynasties, the development of China's commodity market has spread throughout the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, and Song Zhao Rushi's "ZhuFanzhi" records the route of overseas trade and trade in the Song Dynasty, and there are many overseas trade points that enter the Indian Ocean from Nanyang, and it can be said that from the 7th century to the beginning of the 14th century, China's overseas trade was unprecedentedly developed." Dong Shangde said.

Writer Zhang Yiwu believes that the author has accumulated a lot in the process of creating this long story, including the accumulation of ideas, historical knowledge and life emotions, but the character image is not three-dimensional and plump, "a novel is good," often the character personality is very prominent, the details are very full, the fate of the characters is very worthy of people's sympathy, and the author still needs to be improved in this regard."
