The Post: Atletico want to rent and buy Cedric first, Arsenal may not let anyone go

According to the Post, Atletico hope to loan Arsenal right-back Cedric to fill the gap after Trippier's departure.

Atletico sold England right-back Trippier to Newcastle this week, while Atletico boss Simeone hopes to sign a right-back in the winter to avoid a shortage of people in that position. The Post revealed that Atletico have a crush on Cedric and want to loan players in the winter and wait until this summer to buy out players.

Cedric, a 30-year-old Portugal international, went on loan to Arsenal in January 2020 before being bought out by Arsenal. Cedric has only played four times in the Premier League this season, but Arsenal are also not well-manned at right-back and may not agree to let Cedric go. Arsenal's main right-back this season is Kenyo Fuan, but another right-back, Niles, is coming to Roma and if Cedric also leaves in the winter, Arsenal will lack a substitute for the right-back position.
