Spelling the word, the harder you work, the luckier you get - the Chinese alpine ski team has achieved the goal of "participating in the whole project"

On January 7, the Chinese Alpine Ski Team participated in the Women's Super Slalom INTERNATIONAL Snow Federation Points Race in Reitlam, Austria. The two Chinese players, Kong Fanying and Ni Yueming, played well, and both qualified for the Winter Olympics in the women's super big slalom event. So far, the Chinese alpine ski team has achieved the goal of "full-event participation" in 11 minor events of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Among them, Kong Fanying and male athletes Zhang Yangming and Xu Mingfu can participate in the whole project, and Ni Yueming will also participate in the whole project if he wins another women's slide of 79 points.

Strong faith tree confidence Go all out to win the qualification

According to the points requirements of the International Snow Federation on the minimum participation standards of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the average points of the two super big slalom events must be within 80 points. In the two races of this points race, Kong Fanying scored 66.21 points and 76.96 points respectively, with an average score of 71.59 points. Ni Yueming scored 54.34 points and 61.71 points respectively, with an average score of 58.03 points. In the process of reviewing the competition, Liu Zhen, the leader of the alpine skiing national training team, was touched by the athletes' spirit of "spelling the word", "Before the game, they held the belief that they would use me in the decisive battle and use me to win, and there was no reservation in the game, gritting their teeth and insisting, and doing their best." Liu Zhen believes that Kong Fanying and Ni Yueming's achievements in this competition are very important, not only because they won the women's super big slalom Olympic qualification, but also because they created eye-catching points in the speed event.

The scoring method of alpine skiing INTERNATIONAL snow federation points events is quite complicated, and the final score of the players consists of a starting score and a time difference. The starting score of the competition is based on the points of the 5 best players among the registered players and the points of the top 10 players of the competition, which is converted according to a special calculation formula, and generally speaking, the lower the score, the higher the level of the participating athletes. At the end of the competition, the time difference of each second must be calculated according to the performance of the first runner. Therefore, athletes should complete the race with the fastest speed and the most stable performance in order to obtain the least time difference in order to ensure that the total score reaches the standard.

"Achieving the Olympic standard and striving to achieve our own level is the premise, and more importantly, we must compete with foreign athletes with excellent results in the competition, so as to ensure that the event can have a good score points." To achieve the goal, we need to meet good opponents in the game. "Liu Zhen introduced that in the points race of Reitram, many outstanding players from Austria, Germany and other outstanding players participated, creating a good starting score for the event, and the two Chinese players also played the best level in their training and constantly challenged the limit." In the previous speed project points race, it was relatively common for our players to lag behind the champion by 1.6 seconds to 2 seconds, but in this race, Ni Yueming was only 0.8 seconds slower than the champion, and the improvement was obvious. Liu Zhen said.

The foundation is thin, the talent is few, and it is not afraid of difficulties to meet the challenge

Combined with the results of previous Winter Olympic Games, the Chinese sports delegation gave people the impression of "ice is strong and snow is weak", alpine skiing is a basic event, we can only rely on the International Snow Federation allocated by the International Snow Federation to participate in 2 to 3 technical events in each place, and the results of the competition are relatively backward. In order to overcome the winter Olympics sliding, super big slalom, all-around three speed events to participate in the qualification, to achieve the goal of "full project participation", with the strong support of the Winter Sports Center of the General Administration of Sport, the alpine skiing national training team set up a speed project team in 2017, by the technical project players, full impact on the downhill, super big slalom, all-around Olympic qualifications. In Liu Zhen's view, the technical athlete and speed project need to face huge difficulties, and need to constantly conquer the limits of speed and the extremes of the environment. "There are huge differences in the technical and speed events of alpine skiing, taking the average speed as an example, the rotation is between 50 and 60 kilometers, the large rotation can reach 70 to 80 kilometers, the super large rotation can exceed 100 kilometers, and the downhill is faster, and the top speed can reach 130 to 140 kilometers per hour. At the same time, there are huge differences in the site conditions and drop slope of the two types of projects. Liu Zhen said that although Kong Fanying, Ni Yueming, Zhang Yangming and Xu Mingfu are athletes with more than 10 years of snow age, before 2017, they have never been exposed to speed sports, so in the preparation cycle of the Beijing Winter Olympics, athletes have to deal with the triple challenges of technology, physical fitness and psychology.

"In some of the stronger countries in alpine skiing, such as Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, etc., there are hundreds of registered athletes in the International Snow Federation, and the speed and technology categories are very clearly distinguished. However, China's alpine skiing foundation is thin, there are few competitive talents, can only let these few excellent seedlings to do both, our athletes also bravely accept this challenge, and unswervingly shoulder the burden of achieving 'full-project participation' in the snow foundation. "Liu Zhen said that from technical projects to technical speed and both, super big slalom is a more difficult level, because this project integrates all the difficulties of speed projects and technical projects, and slides at high speed and turns between flag doors with an average spacing of less than 50 meters, athletes must have strong physical support and excellent technical skills." In the past few years, everyone has experienced setbacks and faced bottlenecks, but the team members have become more and more frustrated and courageous, firm in their belief and tenacious struggle, and now the pressure can be fully released, and the next step is to go forward and conquer Xiao Haituo with all their might. ”

Cut the details to strengthen physical fitness, scientific training to increase confidence

Previously, in the media open day of the Winter Games Center, Liu Zhen (middle), the leader of the alpine skiing national training team, introduced the team situation.

The alpine skiing national training team has not been a smooth road to compete for Olympic points. The team had planned to complete the speed event in late December last year, but the four races registered for the speed event were temporarily cancelled due to weather and snow conditions, and the coaching staff had to readjust the training and competition schedule. Liu Zhen said that although the frequent cancellation of events disrupted the original game plan, everyone can quickly adjust their mentality, cherish the few competition opportunities, continuously accumulate experience, sharpen their will, and always believe, adhere to and persevere in the past five months of foreign training, and the competitive state is constantly improving in training.

From 21 August last year to Europe until early November, members of the Alpine Skiing National Training Team saw the sunrise over the Sölden Glacier ski resort in Austria almost every day. Once we arrived in Sölden, everyone was eager to catch up with the progress of snow training. However, the summer conditions of Sölden Ski Resort cannot meet the full-day training requirements, so the team has to get up at 4 o'clock every day, rush from the accommodation at an altitude of 1400 meters to the glacier ski field at an altitude of 3200 meters to train, and finish the day's training content before 10 o'clock. "Everyone is like a mountain leopard every day, constantly experiencing the difference between high and low altitudes, and having to be an owl to start a day of training under the shadow of the moonlight." Of course, the sunrise of the glacier snow field can also make people forget the fatigue and stress in an instant, and the athletes yearn to win glory for the country at the Beijing Winter Olympics, and the training is also full of energy. "For Liu Zhen and the players, Sölden's training will be an unforgettable experience in this life, although tired, but very happy.

Plateau training has higher requirements for athletes' cardiorespiratory function and physical fitness, in Liu Zhen's view, athletes can quickly adapt to the field, achieve training effects, and play an important role in domestic scientific preparation. Before departing from Sölden, the alpine skiing training team conducted four months of training at the ErqiChang Ice and Snow Project Training Base, accumulating and consolidating scientific training ability and physical fitness, and laying a good foundation for foreign training competitions. "At the Erqi base, with the help of scientific and technological assistance such as 'wind tunnel' and 'six degrees of freedom' simulated ski machine, the technical details and special forces of the gliding were optimized. The role of scientific preparation is very obvious, the technical details are constantly improved, and the body posture and action mode are more accurate. "The special technology and special physical fitness brought about by scientific preparation have made everyone's confidence firmer, their mentality more calm, and their ability to resist pressure stronger." We also have our last downhill points race on January 14, trying to win more places, and achieve double insurance for women's downhill and all-around at the Winter Olympics. Liu Zhen said.
