The art | classic ballet "The Red Detachment of Women" will be performed in Sui soon

The revolutionary modern ballet "Red Detachment of Women", adapted from the film of the same name, is the crowning work in the history of Chinese art and is the "treasure of the town group" of the Central Ballet. From January 19th to 20th, the "Girl Scout Army" of the National Ballet of China will appear in Guangzhou to recreate this milestone in the history of Chinese ballet for the audience.

Born under the direct attention of Premier Zhou Enlai and other central leaders, the ballet "Red Detachment of Women" was successfully premiered in 1964, highlighting the unique charm of Chinese national ballet art and integrating the essence of ballet with Chinese style.

The story of "Red Women's Army" takes place on Hainan Island in the 1930s, telling the story of Qionghua, a young lady who escaped from the bully Nanba Tianfu, with the help of Hong Changqing, a representative of the Red Army Party, and her comrades-in-arms, and grew into a staunch revolutionary fighter through the test of blood and fire, vividly depicting a magnificent picture of the strong and indomitable revolutionary spirit of Chinese women. The music in the dance drama, such as "The Song of the Lady Scout Army" and "The Water of the Wanquan River is Clear and Clear", is unforgettable for a long time.

"Red Detachment of Women" has created the image of the Heroic Chinese Girl Scout Army of "wearing military hats on their heads and tiptoe shoes on their feet", and also showed the world the indomitable spirit of struggle of the Chinese nation, and its artistic charm, creativity, vitality and appeal have inspired countless people. Over the past 50 years, it has performed more than 4,000 times and has been invited to perform in more than 20 countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia. In April 2021, the ballet "Red Detachment of Women" was selected for the outstanding stage art exhibition list celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
