The ballet "Red Detachment of Women" is about to debut in Yangcheng

At the beginning of the new year, the "Girl Scout Army" of the Central Ballet will soon appear at the Guangzhou Grand Theatre to recreate this milestone in the history of Chinese ballet for the audience. "Red Detachment of Women" is a revolutionary modern ballet adapted from the film of the same name, and is the "treasure of the town group" of the National Ballet of China.

The ballet "Red Detachment of Women" highlights the unique charm of Chinese national ballet art, integrating the essence of ballet with Chinese style. The story takes place on Hainan Island in China in the 1930s, and tells the story of Qionghua, a mane who escaped from the bully Nanba Tianfu, with the help of Hong Changqing, a representative of the Red Army Party, and his comrades-in-arms, through the test of blood and fire, from a bitter and vengeful country mane to a staunch revolutionary fighter.

The music in the dance drama, such as "The Song of the Lady Scout Army" and "The Water of the Wanquan River is Clear and Clear", are all beautiful melodies that the audience is familiar with. In the 2022 New Year performance season of the Guangzhou Opera House, "Red Detachment of Women" will recreate the image of the Chinese girl scouts who "wear military hats on their heads and tiptoe shoes on their feet", showing the world the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation and blooming the unique charm of the flower of Chinese national ballet art.

In April 2021, the ballet "Red Detachment of Women" was selected for the outstanding stage art exhibition list celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
