[Global Times reporter Tao Xinran] On the 12th, Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China, responded to the recent online circulation of "the People's Liberation Army exercise in Hokkien and Hakka dialects to attract the enemy troops."

Taiwan's Zhongshi Electronic News said on the 12th that a video of the People's Liberation Army's training was circulated on the Internet, one of which was the use of Hakka dialect and Hokkien language to shout at the "enemy", "Quickly surrender, surrender the gun and do not kill, we give preferential treatment to prisoners", so that the Taiwan people feel that the target is too strong. In her response on 12 July, Zhu Fenglian stressed: First, the Chinese People's Liberation Army is a mighty, civilized, and peaceful division, a defender of the interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait and the Chinese nation, and a nemesis of the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces; the PLA's relevant training activities are aimed at a very small number of "Taiwan independence" separatists, their separatist activities, and the interference of external forces, and are by no means aimed at the vast number of Taiwan compatriots. Second, Taiwan compatriots are a family whose blood is thicker than water on the mainland, and "the mainland will never regard Taiwan compatriots as enemies."

At a press conference held by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on the 12th, the Taiwan media paid considerable attention to the mainland's ban on the import of two batches of Taiwan grouper. According to the United News Network reported on the 12th, the General Administration of Customs of China issued a quarantine warning notice for live fish in Taiwan last week, and suspended the acceptance of live fish declarations from two Taiwan farms, while strengthening inspection and quarantine of live fish imported into the mainland by other players in Taiwan. Many farmers are worried that Taiwan's live fish will be suspended from the mainland for their imports from following in the footsteps of pineapple, lotus mist and Shakya. Zhu Fenglian said in response that Xiamen Customs recently detected the banned drugs hidden malachite green and crystal purple from two batches of grouper imported from Taiwan, which can exist for a long time in the fish body and environment, and have the risk of mutation, teratogenicity and carcinogenesis, and are prohibited in the breeding process in the mainland and Taiwan. In addition, the mainland also detected in these two batches of groupers that the restricted drug oxytetracycline exceeded the standard. She said that this measure is not aimed at Taiwanese farmers, nor is the purpose of killing chickens and monkeys, and hopes that the Taiwan authorities will strengthen supervision and counsel farmers.

The Taiwan media also mentioned that the MV (music television) of "We Sing a Song Together" was composed by Jay Chou's "royal" lyricist Fang Wenshan, and Taiwanese entertainers Xiao Jingteng, Ouyang Nana, and Chen Linong participated in the singing in Hokkien, and as a result, they were criticized by the DPP authorities as "united front." Zhu Fenglian said that the musicians on both sides of the strait have created and interpreted with their hearts and feelings, which fully demonstrated the family affection of Taiwan compatriots who are homesick and looking forward to reunion, and the blood of compatriots on both sides of the strait is thicker than water. As for the family ties between the two sides of the strait, any rumor-mongering, lying, malicious incitement, or provoking trouble is pale.

At the news conference, Zhu Fenglian especially expressed her condolences to Pang Jianguo, a former "legislator" who unfortunately fell to his death on 11 July, saying that he "adheres to the one-China principle, is committed to the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, actively promotes cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and has always struggled against the 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces, which is admirable." She said that before Pang Jianguo's death, he repeatedly issued articles condemning "unjust and unjust Taiwan" under the DPP authorities, and expressed his protest in such a tragic and magnificent way, which deserves the reflection of the vast number of Taiwan compatriots. However, the times and trends in cross-strait relations are on the side of the forces advocating the development of cross-strait relations and peaceful reunification, and "there is no reason to be pessimistic." Taiwan media noted that the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, in the name of Deputy Director Liu Junchuan, sent a telegram of condolences to the family of Pang Jianguo, saying that "Mr. Pang Jianguo has the great righteousness of the nation in his heart, firmly opposes 'Taiwan independence,' and is determined to promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and put it into practice." His dedication and pursuit will always be remembered by compatriots on both sides of the strait. Although the gentleman is gone, the demeanor will last forever."

Surprisingly, Taiwan, despite being subtropical and tropical, will still send athletes to the Beijing Winter Olympics. Zhu Fenglian revealed that Taiwanese ice and snow athletes are expected to participate in speed skating, bobsleigh and alpine skiing. In addition, at present, 5 Taiwan media and 8 reporters stationed in Beijing have signed up to participate in the non-registered journalistic interview work of the Winter Olympic Games.
