"The Age of Independence" was released in Taiwan in the autumn of 1994, and in the spring of that year, the famous Taiwanese female singer Pan Yueyun published the album "Autumn", the title song is this "Autumn", the lyrics and piano performance are Mr. Li Datao.
The Autumn album is Appan's third album on UFO Records Chinese album.
The entire album of "Autumn" is all li datao's works, with a unified style, elegant style, long charm, full of classical atmosphere and humanistic connotation. Unfortunately, in 1994, when ballet pop songs reached the pinnacle, Ah Pan's record was not easy to sell, and after many years, this album has become a "work of art" worth listening to in Chinese pop records.
The most famous song on the "Autumn" album is the last "Seven-Story Building", because it is the opening song of Qiong Yao's drama "Two Eternal Smoke Locks heavy building".
The year 1994, when this record was published, was the most anxious stage for the international giant Warner to acquire UFO records, and the internal turmoil was very large. In October 1995, in order to stabilize the company's singer "Junxin", UFO made an album of "Blind Love", trying to unite its singers with a chorus of love, and Ah Pan was among the singers of the chorus, and he also stood in the C position.

The new album that Ah Pan recorded that year dragged on for nearly three years before it was released in 1997, called "The Time to Wake Up", the "Who Failed Who" in the record was originally sung by Ah Pan first, but because of a long delay, it was taken by Zhang Huimei, a newcomer created by Fenghua Records, which was established by the flying saucer and left the high-level, to sing, renamed "Originally You Don't Want Anything" and became popular.
Fenghua Records contracted all the music of the next film "Mahjong" of "Independent Times", and even helped the male protagonist Zhang Zhen make a personal album.
Speaking of Li Datao, the reason why Master Li's "Autumn" piano song was used at the end of "Independent Times" should be related to Cai Qin, the director and designer of "Independent Times".
Li Datao actually has a deep relationship with Pan Yueyun. In March 1981, the first album of the Rolling Stone Records Universe was published, "Three-Person Exhibition", which is a compilation album of wu chuchu, Pan Yueyun and Li Lifen, the founders of UFO Records, and Ah Pan sang a song "My Thoughts" in the second song of the record, the lyrics are the lyrics of "Alishan Girl", the famous poet Deng Yuping, and the song is Li Datao.
More than a year later, Cai Qin published her third solo album "Your Eyes" on Haishan Records, and also sang this song "My Thoughts".
Fifteen years later, in 1996, Cai Qin re-instrumented his folk song works from 1979 to 1982 and produced it into "Folk Song Cai Qin" for release, which was accidentally recorded as a fever record, which sold well for many years and made a lot of silver for the BAIDAI company that acquired the point general.
"My Thoughts" is in the sixth song of "Folk Song Cai Qin".
Li Datao also wrote the song "Farewell to Kangqiao", which is very famous in the Era of Taiwanese Folk Songs, which was first sung by Fan Guanghui. Fan Guanghui sang "Farewell to Kangqiao" at the "Folk Song 40" concert, which was the most touching scene of that concert.
Cai Qin also sang "Goodbye Kangqiao" on her 2009 album Love Like a Song.
In 1982, Wu Chuchu, who was originally at the Rolling Stones, and Peng Guohua jointly established UFO Records. In 1984, Cai Qin joined UFO Records, officially left the field of folk songs, and entered the mainstream pop record market, and was very successful.
In November 1987, Cai Qin's fifth album "River of Time" was co-produced by UFO owner Wu Chuchu and the main creator of UFO, Li Datao, who also wrote songs for "Moonlight" (lyrics: Fang Huiguang) and "White" (lyrics: Lin Fengfeng).
In 1988, the flying saucer won the music composition of the "Miss China" beauty pageant, and its stars flocked to the chorus to sing the theme song of the beauty pageant, and the coronation song of the pageant was called "Beautiful Dreams Come True", written by Chen Guizhu and composed by Li Datao, and sung by Su Rui, Cai Qin, Huang Yingying and Wang Zhilei, the four queens of the flying saucer at that time.
How important is Li Datao to Cai Qin? He let her win the Golden Melody Award.
In 1989, Cai Qin launched the album "Talking to the Heart" on UFO Records, and invited Li Datao to write songs such as "Suddenly Remembering You", "Slow Dance", "The Window of My Heart" and so on.
With "Suddenly Remembering You", Cai Qin won the Best Female Singer Award at the 2nd Golden Melody Awards, and all she won that year were big golden songs, such as Ah Pan's "Are You My Favorite Person", Chen Shuhua's "Tell You, Listen to You", and Zhang Qingfang's "It's Difficult not to want you", and Chen Xiaoyun's "Single Nobleman".
In 1992, Cai Qin left UFO and switched to the Japanese-funded Polaris Records. Just this year, Pan Yueyun jumped from the Rolling Stones to the flying saucer records, the two have deep roots, in the same era of their own wonderful Chinese classic female voices, so missed the opportunity to be colleagues.
Li Datao has worked closely with Ah Pan as early as the Rolling Stone era, and in her first album "Goodbye And Parting", half of the songs were composed by Li Datao, including Pan Yueyun's first song "The Old Captain's Words" and the title song "Goodbye Parting".
Ah Pan's second album, the famous "Sky Sky Blue", and a song "A Grain of Sand" by Li Datao, was sung by Li Lifen as early as the "Three-Person Exhibition", and later this song was also covered by the female singer Ye Huan of the flying saucer.
After many years, after Ah Pan went to the flying saucer, he set up a Yueshi studio to produce records and distribute them to the flying saucer, and the degree of freedom was still quite large, so there was a very strong humanistic atmosphere like "Autumn" and did not consider the emergence of works in the market.
The binding design of "Autumn" is also quite quaint, and the circulation of "Autumn" was extremely small, and it is difficult to see it on the market now.
The pure piano song of "Autumn" used in the ending song of "Independent Times", Uncle Feng's speculation, is likely to be the recommendation of the director's wife Cai Qin, plus the director likes classical piano music, so the end of the film uses the "Autumn" played by the master himself.
But Li Datao's most famous work is "NaiHe", a song that first came from the superstar Liu Wenzheng's 1976 album "She's Like a Child" published by Gelin, and Li Datao arranged the lyrics.
However, "Naihe" really became a golden song because of Teresa Teng. In January 1980, Teresa Teng released an album titled "Bright Red Little Song" in the movie "Source", and "NaiHe" was included in it. The record was released in Taiwan.
A few days later, Polydor's album "On the Side of the Water" published in Hong Kong also included this song.
Teresa Teng has sung "NaiHe" on many occasions, and there have been many cover versions since then, including Tianhou Faye Wong's cover in tribute to Teresa Teng's "The Sound of Fei Jingjing", and the latest cover is from Wang Ruolin's "The Call of Love" album last November.
Although Mr. Li Datao does not even have a single entry in a certain encyclopedia, he is still a master of Chinese pop music, which is quite important.
In 2007, Li Datao was invited to be a judge of the 44th Golden Horse Awards.
Just a few years ago, around 2012, Li Datao and his old friends Wu Chuchu and Zhang Guiming had weekly folk song performances in Taipei, and also appeared on some TV programs.
