Suzhou, January 14 news (reporter Wang Xifei correspondent Zhang Jiyang) In order to enrich the cultural life of the masses and do a good job in the promotion and application of the results of the exhibition of our well-off life art works, the Public Service Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched a joint exhibition of New Year paintings with the theme of "Appreciating the New Year Paintings over the New Year" during the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival in 2022. On January 14th, the "Ancient Edition of New Rhymes and Good Dramas for Many Years - 2022 China Twelve Traditional New Year Paintings Group Exhibition" was brilliantly unveiled at the Suzhou Art Museum, which exhibited more than 200 New Year paintings and will last until February 20.

The exhibition is guided by the Public Service Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, sponsored by the National Public Cultural Development Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu Province, the Association of Chinese Cultural Centers, the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, the Suzhou Public Cultural Center (Suzhou Municipal Cultural Center), the Suzhou Taohuawu Woodblock New Year Painting Museum, the Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society, the Shandong Weifang Yangjiabu Woodblock New Year Painting Society, the Kaifeng Songdu Woodblock New Year Painting Museum, the Hebei Wuqiang New Year Painting Research Association, the Sichuan Provincial Culture Center, the Fujian Zhangzhou Art Museum, Co-organized by Shandong Gaomi Yonghezhuang Lv's Art Museum, Hunan Tantou Gao laMeinian Painting Workshop, Guangdong Foshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Chongqing Liangping District Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, and Shanxi Pingyang Woodblock New Year Painting Museum.

It is understood that the exhibition is divided into four parts: New Year Painting, Shooting Tigers, Drama, and Celebrating the Rest of the Year. The twelve New Year paintings exhibited this time. Peach Blossom Wood New Year Painting, Yangliu Youth Painting, Yangjiabu New Year Painting, Zhuxian Town New Year Painting, Wuqiang New Year Painting, Mianzhu New Year Painting, Zhangzhou New Year Painting, Gaomi Fluttering Grey New Year Painting, Beachhead New Year Painting, Foshan New Year Painting, Liang Pingnian Painting, Pingyang New Year Painting are all representative projects for the inheritance of national intangible cultural heritage, except for Pingyang, the eleven are the first batch of projects selected for the national list in 2006.

There is a kind of lantern square play called the living fossil of the lantern riddle in the New Year painting, and each New Year painting is an opera picture, and each picture has a riddle on it. The Suzhou Peach Blossom Wood Drama New Year Painting Marquee in the prologue hall of this exhibition is one of the typical works of Suzhou Lanterns, and the forty-eight square lanterns in Hall 1 and Hall 3 are the famous Wuqiang Lantern FangNian Paintings. 2022 is the Year of the Tiger, the riddle is also known as Wen hu, guess the riddle is also called shooting tiger. The ancient version of the new rhyme, good drama for many years; the year of the tiger shoots the tiger, lighting the heart lamp.

Curator Suzhou Public Culture Center and Suzhou Municipal Cultural Center Management Department Deputy Director Said That China's Folk New Year Painting Art is known for its long history, far-reaching circulation, rich and distinctive local characteristics, it is an important category of Chinese folk art, not only on the occasion of the New Year, used to welcome the Spring, pray for blessings, but also a chinese people to beautify the environment, reflect social life, express ideal pursuit of an art style.

During the exhibition, the museum will carry out various forms of traditional New Year paintings, popularization of traditional opera knowledge, public education, parent-child experience, and play out new year painting riddles.
