Kangxi cherished talents, and in dealing with Nian Qianyao, Kangxi cherished his military talents, but at the same time, he also predicted the tragic end of Nian Qianyao in the future with a secret letter.
Nian Qianyao was a capable person, which must be known to everyone, especially in the military, and made great achievements for the Qing Dynasty. When he was admitted to the jinshi in 1700, Kangxi noticed this talented young man and consciously cultivated and promoted Nian Qianyao.
In 1718, kangxi had been uneasy about the Great Northwest or an accident, the Jungar rebellion and invasion of Qinghai and Tibet. On the one hand, in order to quell the rebellion, and on the other hand, in order to cultivate descendants, Kangxi sent his fourteenth son Yin Yu as the general of Fuyuan to the northwest to quell the rebellion. This fourteenth son, Yin Yu, was an important member of the Eight Masters Party who later seized the throne with Yongzheng, and the suppression of the Northwest Rebellion was one of The capitals of Yin Yu's struggle for the throne.

When Nian Qianyao achieved a little military merit, he gave Kangxi a secret fold, but it caused Kangxi to be furious, the main content of which was: "The Sichuan army is arrogant and lawless, and it will certainly know about eliminating the shortcomings and rectifying the battalions of the town association. Why was Kangxi so angry? It turned out that this was a secret letter of "blackmail", to the effect that the Sichuan army at that time was arrogant and lawless, did not obey the management, and if it wanted to rectify the barracks, it was necessary to give me Nian Qianyao a "false post" of a governor, and asked the emperor to reward peacock plumes to deter the officers, and after one year the barracks would certainly be greatly improved.
What is the title of the governor who wears the peacock plume? This is clearly the right to restrain the northwest army and horses from Kangxi! Nian Qianyao was very clever, and he chose a tight war ahead and the chaos in the northwest could not be separated from his own at the right time to give Kangxi this secret letter. Who was Kangxi? He still can't see Nian Qianyao's careful thinking?
Although the Kangxi Emperor was angry in his heart, after thinking about it, he agreed to Nian Qianyao's request. Because on the one hand, the change of marshals in this situation is harmful to quelling the rebellion in the northwest, on the other hand, the Kangxi Emperor also cherishes talents and feels that it is still no problem to tame Nian Qianyao, an arrogant little foal, with his own ability.
However, when watching Nian Tangyao's recital, the Kangxi Emperor still couldn't help but scold Nian Qianyao: "Evil slave, after a long time, you will suffer the calamity of Huaiyin!" This means that Nian Qianyao will suffer the same calamity as the Marquis of Huaiyin in the future, and the Marquis of Huaiyin is the Han Xin of the Han Dynasty. When Liu Bang was surrounded by enemy troops, Han Xin also took the opportunity to blackmail Liu Bang into making himself king, and Liu Bang reluctantly agreed to Han Xin's request. When it came to the Yongzheng Emperor, at the beginning Yongzheng also reused Nian Tangyao, and Nian Tangyao also lived up to Yongzheng's trust, quelled the rebellion, and made great military achievements. However, Nian Qianyao did not understand the principle of collecting sharp edges, was too ostentatious, and even formed a party for personal gain, which aroused Yongzheng's vigilance.
