Regarding the application of small claims procedures to try civil cases

Notification of standard limits

According to the provisions of Article 165 of the newly revised Civil Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China and the Notice on the Average Wage of Employed Personnel in Urban Units of All Calibers in Shanghai in 2020 [2021] No. 193, the average annual wage of employed persons in Our City in 2020 is RMB 124,056. As of the date of this Notice, the city's grass-roots courts, people's courts, and maritime courts newly accepted civil cases with clear facts, clear relationships of rights and obligations, minor disputes, and subject matter of less than RMB62,028 (including RMB62,028) for simple monetary payment civil cases shall be tried in accordance with small claims procedures and the final trial of the first instance shall be implemented. Where the subject matter of the above case exceeds RMB62,028 but falls below RMB248,112, the parties may also agree to apply the small claims procedure.
