Tesla's California factory is suspected of racial discrimination State government filed a complaint
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) filed a complaint in Alameda County Superior Court on Wednesday (9th) alleging systematic racial discrimination and harassment at the electric vehicle maker Tesla's facility in Fremont, state. On the same day, Tesla called the DFEH operation "wrong" and threatened to ask the court to suspend the case.
The DFEH statement said that after receiving complaints from hundreds of workers, a three-year investigation into Tesla found evidence that the factory involved was a segregated workplace and that black workers were racially discriminated against in terms of job distribution, discipline and pay.
Tesla said in a filing that the lawsuit focused on misconduct involved in the factory-related plant between 2015 and 2019, DFEH has never raised any concerns about Tesla's workplace practices during the investigation, and the company will ask the court to suspend the case and take other steps to ensure that the facts and evidence are known to the outside world.
