Beijing News (reporter Teng Chao) On August 22, Palestine made "Must Be Paradise" a selection film for the 2020 Academy Award for Best International Film (previously the Best Foreign Language Film Award). Although Palestine is a small film country with an underdeveloped film industry, it has performed well at the Oscars, making a total of 12 entries for the preliminary list of best foreign language films, of which "Heaven At This Time" in 2006 and "Omar" in 2014 were shortlisted for the final five lists twice.

The selection of "Must Be Heaven" is a comedy, directed and starring the famous Palestinian director Elia Suleiman, the film is to present the story from his point of view, he left his homeland palestine, to Paris, New York, to find a place that does not need to encounter daily violence, barricades, identity checks, but he found that these cities and his hometown staged a similar plot. The film won a jury special mention prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which foreign media described as "a love letter from modern Chaplin to Palestine".

On August 21, South Korea selected "Parasite," which has just won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, to run for next year's Oscar for Best International Film.
