Zhan Jianjun, born in January 1931, a native of Gai County, Liaoning Province, is an oil painter. In 1948, he entered the Beiping National Art College, graduated from the Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1953, graduated from the Color Ink Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, and graduated from the Oil Painting Training Class of soviet expert Maximov in 1957. Since 1957, he has been teaching at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor, advisor to the academic committee, chairman of the Chinese Oil Painting Society, visiting academician of the European Academy of Humanities, Arts and Academies of Sciences, and consultant of the Chinese Artists Association. He was a member of the 8th and 9th National Committee of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference, the director of the Oil Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association, and the vice chairman of the 5th National Committee. Zhan Jianjun has long been engaged in the creation, teaching and academic work of oil painting. Representative works include "Five Heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain", "Looking Back", "Song of the Plateau", "Tide", etc., the style of the works is magnificent and majestic, the momentum is smooth, and it is full of high and beautiful love rhyme. He has won many awards such as the Gold Medal of the National Fine Arts Exhibition, the First Prize and Honorary Award of the Beijing Fine Arts Exhibition, the First Prize of the Literary and Art Criticism of the China Federation of Literary and Art Works, and the "Plastic Arts Achievement Award" of the China Federation of Literary and Art Works. Some of his works are collected by art museums and collectors at home and abroad. He has published "Zhan Jianjun Painting Collection", "Zhan Jianjun" album of "Zhan Jianjun" of China's Great Art Weekly, "Zhan Jianjun Dictionary", "Zhan Jianjun", the third generation of Chinese oil painters research "Zhan Jianjun", the collection of Chinese contemporary oil painting masterpieces "Zhan Jianjun", and the "Zhan Jianjun" of the Ten Chinese Oil Paintings.
In addition, since 1985, Zhan Jianjun has been leading and presiding over the exhibition, selection and discussion activities of national oil painting art, and has served as a member of the judging committee, the leader of the oil painting review team and the general appraisal committee of the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth "National Fine Arts Exhibition", the director of the art committee of the first, second and third "Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition", "Twentieth Century Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition" and many other national oil painting exhibitions; the planning committee member and the leader of the oil painting review team of the first and second "China Beijing International Art Biennale". He has made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese oil painting art.
