China News Service Beijing, January 28, reporters learned on the 28th that Chinese government officials attended the ministerial meeting of the "Major Economies Energy and Climate Forum" (MEF) called for the construction of a fair and reasonable global climate governance system, cooperation and win-win results, should practice the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, fairness and respective capabilities, developed countries should take the lead in enhancing action and fulfill financial commitments as soon as possible, leaving room for developing countries to develop and emit emissions.

The Ministerial Meeting of the Energy and Climate Forum of Major Economies (MEF) was held by video on the 27th. Xie Zhenhua, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change, and Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment, attended and delivered speeches.

The Chinese side pointed out that with the joint efforts of all parties, the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change completed the implementation rules of the Paris Agreement and reached a package of balanced outcomes, including the Glasgow Climate Agreement, which released a positive signal of upholding multilateralism and strengthening collective action.

China calls on developed countries to take the lead in enhancing their actions and fulfilling their financial commitments as soon as possible in order to build a fair and reasonable global climate governance system with win-win cooperation and cooperation, and to enhance mutual trust between the North and the South.
