Beijing Printing Institute teachers and students team designed the Beijing, Zhangjiakou Awards Plaza, Beijing, Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village, Winter Paralympic Village, Olympic Family Hotel five major venues image landscape design, actively explore the Humanistic Spirit and Innovative Concept of Olympic Design, Visual Language and Aesthetic Value, Audience Experience and Scientific and Technological Expression, under the cultural self-confidence vision, the design and the nation, with the times, and science and technology, with "Chinese creative design" to carry forward the Olympic spirit, tell the story of the Winter Olympics, tell the story of the Winter Olympics, tell the story of China.

Beijing Awards Plaza, which is full of simple and solemn modern design style

The awards plaza is an important cultural feature that distinguishes the Winter Olympics from the Summer Olympics, and also carries the important mission of creating unforgettable highlight moments for athletes. Therefore, the design team embodies "passion, romance, honor and solemnity" as the design concept of Beijing and Zhangjiakou Awards Plaza.

Beijing Awards Plaza is located between the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube, the design team optimizes the overall visual design scheme of the landscape, and highlights the atmosphere of the "gorgeous, romantic and dreamy" square landscape environment according to the flow line of personnel and the layout of the live broadcast machine. Based on the display of traditional Chinese cultural elements, with the core image elements of the Beijing Winter Olympics as the main body, the main control tower of the award square and the surrounding temporary façade, the traditional Chinese landscape "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains Map", the Winter Olympics snowflake shape, sports and sports icons and other elements, the modern design of multi-dimensional visual language combination, reflecting the Olympic spirit, ice and snow characteristics and Chinese style.

Zhangjiakou Awards Plaza is located in Chongli Prince City Ice and Snow Town, the design team combined the unique natural conditions of the competition area, a long history and humanities and fierce snow project events, with "passion to chase dreams" as the design theme, the use of dynamic lines, clear functional partitions, with the snow mountain shape background, with an elegant and beautiful design language, all-round, multi-dimensional, immersive visual form, outlining a rich, diverse, open and inclusive visual image, creating a Winter Olympic image landscape atmosphere, showing the national courage of Yangyang China, It highlights the unique charm of China's cultural innovation in the new era, and realizes the integration and collision of Chinese history and Winter Olympic culture.

This Winter Olympics coincides with the Chinese New Year, and how to let the Winter Olympic athletes spend the "Happy Chinese Year" in the Winter Olympic Village has become an important issue for the design team to think about. The team set up a number of landscape punching points with artistic beauty and Chinese characteristics in the Beijing Winter Olympic Village; the team also carefully designed landscapes such as "flying snowflakes, majestic Great Wall, magnificent mountains, high hanging lanterns, dancing windmills", etc., which not only set off the festive and joyful atmosphere, but also paid attention to reflecting the comfort and ease of the environment, giving athletes from all over the world a "sense of home". In Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village, the team also integrated elements such as Chinese lanterns, Chinese windmills, and paper-cutting of the Chinese Zodiac sign rich in traditional Chinese cultural characteristics into the landscape environment to create a festive, peaceful and joyful space atmosphere, and at the same time integrated into the characteristic history and culture of Prince Edward City, highlighting the weather of a big country.

On June 10, 2021, entrusted by the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the school took the high-end construction discipline "Design" of Beijing Universities as the guide, gave full play to the characteristics and advantages in the professional fields of "Visual Communication Design", "Art and Technology", "Museum Display Design" and other disciplines, led by Yang Mingjun, director of the Visual Communication Department of the School of Design and Art, the landscape design team of the Winter Olympic venues composed of teachers and graduate students, from the extreme heat to the severe winter, day and night, rushed to Beijing many times, Zhangjiakou venues conduct on-site surveys, surveys and mapping, communicates and negotiates with the landscape managers and owners of each venue, and understands the functions of each venue. During the period, the team made eight rounds of plan reports and submissions to the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee, which were unanimously praised by the International Olympic Committee and the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, and successfully completed the major design task.
