Sony said Wednesday that the company has developed an artificial intelligence agent called "GT Sophie" that can beat the world's best drivers on the PlayStation racing simulation game GT Cars. Sony said in a statement that in order to prepare GT Sophie for the race, different divisions of Sony have introduced basic AI research, an ultra-realistic real-world racing simulator, and a large-scale AI training infrastructure. Last July, GT Sophie raced for the first time with and learned from the 4 best GT Racing drivers before overtaking the human drivers in another race in October.
