Recently, EA and The Sims developer Maxis announced that due to Russia's anti-gay law, they will not be releasing the upcoming "Sims 4" DLC "Wedding Adventure" in Russia.
In a blog post by the Sims team, developer Maxis said they didn't want to "compromise the values they live on" in their development and brand story.
Wedding Adventure is a "Wedding" themed expansion pack that allows players to plan their weddings in the locations of their hearts, adding detailed planning, decorations, costumes, cakes, events, and more in addition to existing wedding features such as proposals and ceremonies.
In "Marriage Adventure", any adult simulated character can get married, and when the DLC is promoted and marketed, it is showing the happy love process of two women.
The Sims 4 received an 18+ rating when it was released in Russia in 2014, apparently because the game contained same-sex content. From today's incident, EA and developers are still holding on to their views.
