The 9th Company of the 93rd Infantry Regiment adjusted its deployment in time in the case that the main offensive platoon did not reach the designated position on time, so that the 2nd platoon of the reserve team took over the main offensive task and ensured that the company launched the attack on time. In the battle, each platoon is tactically flexible, and the playing style is changed in time according to the specific situation. After the 2 platoons, which were temporarily in charge of the main attack, launched an attack, they were violently suppressed by enemy fire; When enemy fire fired at Squad 4, Squads 5 and 6 crossed the barbed wire and quickly broke through the enemy's front. When attacking Highland 11 and Height 1142, the 3rd Platoon took the initiative to contact its neighbors and establish temporary coordination when it lost contact with the company, giving full play to the role of firearms, attacking in four ways, fighting while suppressing, and capturing the two highlands in one fell swoop. In only 2 hours, the whole company successively captured 7 high grounds such as the 1142 heights with brave and tenacious combat operations, destroyed the two command posts and mortar positions of the independent 3rd Battalion and the 3rd Company in Yue'an Ming County, and created favorable conditions for the enemy in the Yinshan area of the total annihilator, and was awarded the honorary title of "Heroic Company of the Yin Mountain" by the Central Military Commission.
Highland 1142 is located 1.5 kilometers southwest of boundary monument No. 10 on the Sino-Vietnamese border, consisting of 7 highlands arranged from northwest to southeast with the word "one", and the ridge is northwest-southeast, with a high middle and a low north-south. The eastern side is steep, with steep shrubs, with a gradient of about 70 to 90 degrees. Except for some localities, most of them are not easy to climb. The southwest side is gentler, with thatched soil slopes, and the south side is Chaishan Fort and Xinzhai. It is bordered by Highland 1250 to the northeast and Highland 1052.4 to the west. The terrain is dangerous, easy to defend and difficult to attack.
The defenders were the command post of the Independent 3rd Battalion in Yue An Minh County, the direct subordinate unit, the 4th Company (Fire Company) and the 3rd Company and 1 Platoon. The main peak of Hill 1142 has anti-aircraft machine gun and 75 seatless gun positions, and the two unnamed highlands on the southeast side have battalion command posts, 82 mortar and anti-aircraft machine gun positions. Each highland was constructed with reinforced concrete precasts of shelters, bunkers, tunnels and field fortifications combined with strong circular positions. In front of the front there are low pile wire mesh and anti-infantry minefields. With anti-aircraft machine guns, heavy machine guns, and mortar fire as the backbone, a crossfire network of side fire, oblique fire, and inverted fire was formed. Supported by the fire of its deep artillery, it vainly attempted to "win on the front line".
The 9th Company reinforced 4 heavy machine guns, 3 82 seatless guns, and 2 flamethrower sets as the main attack of the battalion. Determined to form two echelons to occupy the offensive starting position on the back of the hill on the west side of The Annex No. 1 Heights, when the artillery is ready, advance to the first line of the Fire Slope Trail to occupy the impact starting positions, break through the enemy's defenses from the west and northwest sides of the Annex No. 1 Highlands, and adopt the tactical means of combining frontal breakthroughs, pincer attacks, small groups of multiple roads, alternating cover, sneak attacks and strong attacks, launch an attack in advance, first capture the Annex No. 1 and Annex No. 2 highlands, and then surround and annihilate the enemy on the No. 11 highlands. After occupying Hill 11, he consolidated his position with a platoon of troops, searched for and suppressed the enemy, and the main force developed an attack on Hill 1142.
The 3rd platoon was equipped with 1 heavy machine gun, 1 82 seatless gun, and 1 flamethrower group as the main attack platoon, and after breaking through the enemy's defense on the west side of The Annex No. 1 Highland, capturing the Annex No. 1 and Annex No. 2 highlands, and then developing an attack on the No. 11 highland as appropriate. The 1st platoon was equipped with 1 heavy machine gun, 1 82 seatless guns, and 1 set of flamethrowers, breaking through the enemy's defense from the northwest side of The Annex No. 1 Heights, and cooperating with the main forces of the company to first capture the Annex No. 1 and Annex No. 2 Highlands with positive actions, and then encircling and annihilating the enemy on the No. 1 Highlands. The 2nd Platoon is a company of barrier-breaking teams, and after opening a passage in the enemy's obstacles, it is turned into a company reserve, ready to join the battle at Attached 2 Heights and launch an attack on Height 11. After capturing Hill 11, attack Hill 1142.
