Spring snow is full of air, and the touch is like a flower. During the Spring Festival in 2022, the snow flakes flying in the depths of qinling mountains covered the qinling land with snow white coats. Listen to the creaking sound of snow and walk at the foot of the snowy mountains, like exploring the mysterious canyon jungle. One by one, the patrolmen with double crutches and carrying tool kits appeared in the beautiful scenery, the originally quiet and empty mountain forest became lively, and on February 9, just after the eighth day of the first lunar month, the first task of this patrol team had already begun...
They are employees of the Bayuan Electric Power Engineering Zone of the Xi'an Power Supply Section of China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Bayuan Electric Power Industrial Zone is located at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, surrounded by mountains, and the nearly 100 kilometers of power lines under their jurisdiction are winding between ravines and mountains, of which 90% of the power poles and towers and equipment are distributed in the deep mountains and old forests. There are 17 employees in the zone, with an average age of 32 years.
"Post-90s" Xue Yansong and "post-70s" foreman Liu Weiping are both mentors and apprentices, but also the best partner. According to Xue Yansong, "The terrain of Qinling Mountains is complex, the traffic depends on walking, the road is opened by hand, and there is no road at all." "Every time they go out to patrol the line, they are wading through mountains and rivers, making roundabout progress, and sleeping in the wind. Many times, it is necessary to climb between the cliffs and clear the potential dangerous trees. Especially in winter, the original peaks are steep, plus the blizzard dance, the wind is howling, and the patrol work is like a dangerous adventure.
"Through the jungle, through the snow", this is not only a true portrayal of Xue Yansong and Liu Weiping's daily work, but also their fun. The two love hiking, like to be close to nature, and with the same interests and special work nature, they often compare homework to "breaking through" games and enjoy it. On the way to the mountains, they will occasionally make music in pain, singing and walking, between the cliffs and jungle ravines, leaving their cheerful and extensive songs.
In summer, the Qinling Mountains are shaded by trees and the scenery is unlimited; in winter, it is a scene of frozen snow, which brings more uncertainty to the work. The Guanzhong Plain has just entered winter, and the Qinling Mountains are already icy and snowy. In addition to the daily maintenance of power lines, they also have to conduct a full-coverage walking tour of nearly 100 miles of power equipment in the jurisdiction once a month. In the mountains, the actual distance of the mountain road with a straight line distance of only 100 meters is far more than this, and the operation is more difficult.
The conditions of working in the field were tough, but they always found joy. "Along the way, you can occasionally encounter snakes, wild boars and unknown small animals, just like the 'Super Mary' game played as a child, which is a 'level' set up by nature, and you can reach the pole tower, even if you succeed." Liu Weiping quipped. When work and interest intersect, work is less boring and they enjoy it even in the face of special tests.
The itinerary of "clearing customs" is a kind of exploration, and the process is full of twists and turns. In early January this year, Liu Weiping and Xue Yansong went out to inspect the power pole tower, and shortly after going up the mountain, they walked to an open hilltop flat land and saw a large area like a reclaimed wasteland, full of animal footprints. When I walked to the vicinity of the Ridge 20 # power pole, I found two wild boars foraging. Because they often heard local residents talk about wild boar attacks, the two immediately became vigilant and did not dare to make a sound. It wasn't until the wild boar was gone that he breathed a sigh of relief and began to collect pole information. They never mentioned this experience to their families, afraid that their families would be worried.
Whenever you encounter these "dangerous" experiences, you can exchange for a "wild survival" experience, which is a kind of experience and improvement. After experiencing this kind of fearful and frightening experience many times, Xue Yansong was not only bold, but also calm and calm in handling things. Every time they patrol, in addition to tools, machetes, hand saws and crutches have also become essential supplies for them to go out, not for work, but to open the way to the mountains and protect their own safety.
Although she also worked in the railway department, her wife did not know much about the details of Xue Yansong's work. Every time his wife asked about his work, Xue Yansong always replied: "Like a child, climbing mountains, looking at the water, the scenery is very beautiful!" Hearing such a light answer, the wife knew that he was afraid of worrying and would never ask questions. But how could my wife not have an answer: dealing with electricity, still in the Qinling Mountains, how could it be as easy as he said.
"When you treat work as an obligation, life is hard labor; when you treat work as fun, life is enjoyment." This is a sentence that Xue Yansong often hangs on his lips.
The special "breaking through the barrier" and optimistic attitude not only added fun to their work, but also tempered the will of Xue Yansong and his co-workers, who silently adhered to the depths of the mountain and ensured the safety and smoothness of the railway artery.
