Hancheon Psychiatric Hospital (Hanchuan People's Hospital Xinhe Branch) is a public secondary psychiatric specialized hospital that undertakes public health functions such as rehabilitation and treatment for mentally ill patients of 1.05 million Hanchuan residents. At the unveiling ceremony held on the morning of the 17th, Geng Qing, vice president of the Provincial People's Hospital, and Huang Yonghong, president of Hanchuan Psychiatric Hospital, signed a cooperation agreement on the medical association, Wang Gaohua, president of the Psychiatrist Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and president of the Hubei Provincial People's Hospital, and Yuan Chong, vice mayor of Hanchuan City, joined hands to unveil the "Hanchuan Psychiatric Hospital of Hubei Provincial People's Hospital" and witnessed a new milestone in Hanchuan's health undertakings.

It is estimated that there are about 800,000 people with severe mental illness in Hubei Province.
