During the Gannan counterinsurgency, the platoon he led was known as the Hero Platoon for its bravery in battle. Later, he successively served as a company commander and a staff officer of the regimental headquarters. In October 1969, the Fourth Regiment of the Second Cavalry Division was reorganized into the Fifty-ninth Regiment of the Twentieth Division of the Army, and he successively served as the commander of the third battalion, the deputy director of the division hospital, and then returned to the Fifty-ninth Regiment as deputy chief of staff. In 1978, he was transferred to Shizuishan Dawukou Power Supply Station as the secretary of the party branch, he obeyed the needs of the organization, could go up and down, worked diligently, and he was proud to participate in the construction of local power undertakings and local power grids. He retired in February 1992 and spent his old age in Otakeguchi. He participated in the fight against the rebellion in Ganqingnan.

In April 1984, he changed careers and became the party secretary of Dawukou Power Plant, retiring in June 1995.
