"This is a themed sculpture about figure skating, watching the athlete's slender arms and legs extend at multiple angles, as if trying to feel and dominate the space that belongs to her, the body is particularly tight and contracted, toned and elegant, named 'Heart in Flight'". Fan Di'an, chairman of the China Artists Association and president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, wrote in the preface to the exhibition:
In Zhang Hua's sculptures, ice and snow sports show a graceful posture of strength and beauty, full of the fusion of speed and passion.
The athletes' brave forward, two-arm eagle exhibition, rotational body whirlwind, jumping in the air and other sports postures are different, bursting out of the indomitable life force, releasing the vigorous and exuberant sports vitality, but also showing the unique beauty of ice and snow sports, and rising up the spirit of the times of Chinese athletes.
In the creation of sculpture, Zhang Hua insists on studying the modeling characteristics of sports, captures the instantaneous form of dynamic art, portrays the dynamics of the most embodied movement tension such as galloping, rotating, jumping, churning, etc. during the movement, and freezes the time on the image of the high degree of cohesion between strength and beauty, and the sudden display of life and strength, thus making the work overflow with full spirit, becoming an artistic chapter that praises sports and sings life.
It is reported that Zhang Hua has previously held large-scale sculpture solo exhibitions at the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the Beijing Phoenix Center, and at the same time was invited by the Beijing Winter Olympic Games Olympic Group to hold the first exhibition of the Winter Olympic Art Series "Flying Dreams and Love for the Winter Olympics" in the office area of the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee.
