Recently, Jia Pingwa's new work "The Record of Qinling" was published in an excerpt from People's Literature (No. 2, 2022). Different from his previous novels, "The Record of Qinling" tends to be a strange note-style novel, with 55 chapters with different stories, but in the mountains, stones, trees, and world troubles, it reveals the infinite possibilities and uncontrollable possibilities of Qinling. As the preface of the "People's Literature" commented: "In the reading room, the traces of the changing circumstances of existence, the filtering and clarification of customs, and the details of life and the taste of life in the depths of the mountains can be faintly seen." ”

As early as 2017, when he wrote the novel "Yamamoto", Jia Pingwa wanted to write a "Qinling Zhi" to sort out the records of grass and trees and animals in Qinling, although it could not be completed, it gained many legendary stories circulated in Qinling. In 2021, Jia Pingwa created "The Record of Qinling", which is more like completing the "Qinling Zhi" that has been drafted thousands of times, and it has been completed in one go for nearly 80 days.

The whole book of "Qinling" has 3 parts: "Qinling Record", "Qinling Record External Compilation I", and "Qinling Chronicle External Compilation II". "Qinling Ji" is the main body. There are 17 chapters in the "Qinling Chronicle i", which are written about the events of the Taibai Mountains in Qinling. The "Qinling Chronicles II" contains 7 independent old works. Jia Pingwa confessed in the "Afterword": "I once thought of writing 'Outer Editor I' again, and changing the narrative angle of 'Outer Editor II', but later this idea was dispelled. Let's keep the original look, when I was young, I had acne on my face, maybe it was ugly, but I could see how my youth and I got old step by step. ”

The more than 100,000-word "Qinling Chronicle" has 55 chapters, and each chapter has no title, because the author does not want to start the title. In "Qinling Chronicle I", Jia Pingwa tries to write fiction with reality, "stubbornly writing out the psychological things of the mind with a very real plot". He said: "In the end, writing is all about writing about yourself. Your energy, your vision, your understanding of the nature of heaven and earth, and life determine the depth and size of the work. ”

Jia Pingwo, who grew up in Dihua Town, Danfeng County, Shangluo City, records the great mountain range of Qinling and the people it nourishes with literature, and witnesses the glory and dreams, twists and turns and splendor of Qinling.

In the 1980s, Jia Pingwa opened the prelude to his first collection of novels, Mountain Notes, in which he described the historical geography and real life of Qinling Mountains. After that, he created "Shangzhou Preliminary Record", "Shangzhou Re-Record", "Shangzhou Re-Record", "Taibai Mountain Record", "Remembering the Wolf", etc., all of which truly reflect Qin Ling's works.

In 2005, Jia Pingwa created and published the novel "Qin Cavity". In the following ten years, Jia Pingwo has successively launched five novels, such as "Happy", "With Lights", "Ancient Furnace", "Lao Sheng", and "Polar Flower", which narrate the century-old history of the Qinling Mountains and the great changes in the mountains and countryside since the reform and opening up.

From "Impetuousness", which records the great changes in the mountains and townships of Shangzhou in the early days of reform and opening up, to "Tumen" and "Gaolaozhuang", which describe the changes in the Qinling Mountains or the junction of urban and rural areas, from "Qin Cavity" and "Happy", which reflect the changes in the rural areas and peasants in the Qinling Mountains in the process of urbanization, to the "Encyclopedia of Qinling Mountains" and "Shanben", Jia Pingwo focuses on Shangzhou and then enlarges them to the entire Qinling Mountains. For decades, he has always persistently described the glory and suffering of the history of Qinling Mountains, and the revitalization and sorrow of reality.

It can be said that Qinling is the base of Jia Ping's literary creation, and whether it is his life story or literary creation, it has an indissoluble relationship with Qinling. In his words, it is "Qinling and the qinling me." The publication of "The Record of Qinling" once again refreshed the reader's understanding of Jia Pingwa and his literary writing about Qinling.

"The Record of Qinling takes the mountains and rivers as the scripture, takes the personnel as the weft, embellishes the jade and beads, the wonderful pen is full of flowers, and the thick accumulation is thin. Some stories have been understood, some have not understood, and some do not know whether they are understood correctly..." After reading it, more readers have felt the author's realm of "heaven and earth and me are born together, and all things are one with me", but they cannot fully understand the mysteries of it.
