A glass house on the black water pyramid, another unique Apple Store

The airy glass curtain wall, the huge glowing logo, the luster of metal, the long wooden table... Taken together, these elements make for an Apple Store, and if you add the idea of the architecture team Foster + Partners, it becomes another unique building.

On February 3, Apple Yas Mall, an expanded and renovated Apple Store in a shopping destination in the financial district of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is another collaboration between Apple and Foster + Partners, which opened in 2015 and is now almost twice as large as it was then.

Looking at the Apple Store from the outside, it looks like a pearl perched on a pyramid-like black water feature. Walk through the two ramps next to the black granite water feature and you will come to a shop that looks like a glass box.

You can also choose to enter the promenade through an adjacent shopping mall through a mirrored stainless steel door, and you will be surrounded by the sound and scene of water pouring down from the external glass wall, and the light and shadow will flicker as the water droplets flow on the surface of the broken glass. After walking through this "kaleidoscope" corridor, there is the familiar "glass house".

Similar to the materials used in other Apple Stores, the Apple Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi features a locally made lightweight gold-tone carbon fibre roof that enhances the acoustics of the space. Over 150 feet of massive curved glass curtain walls allow large swaths of light to pour in the interior, and through the glass, you can also see the coastline and the city of Abu Dhabi beyond.

In the center of the Apple Yas Mall, there is a huge screen and staggered seating area, which is the area where Today at Apple activities are conducted, and sometimes Apple Creative Pros conducts some classes here, providing creative inspiration, imparting practical skills, and allowing participants to have a deeper connection with the product.

The display table sits between banyan trees, and natural light falls on the table through two skylights at the top of the tree and layers of leaves. See Apple's products on the table, learn more about Apple's trade-in programs on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watch, and get support from Apple experts in your shopping.

The expanded Apple Yas Mall, with 100 highly trained team members, has nearly doubled the number of people since the store opened in 2015. The team is available in 33 languages, representing 32 countries, where customers receive the best possible support.

In addition to Apple Yas Mall, the "pearl on the black crystal pyramid", Apple's previous cooperation with Foster + Partners has many classics, such as the Apple Tower Theatre in Los Angeles, the glass cube on Fifth Avenue in New York, and so on. The styles are very different and distinctive.

Similar elements always bring surprises, and in Apple's cooperation with Foster + Partners, it has been seen again and again that the Apple Store is not just a retail store.
