On March 3, at the 2022 CEO Investor Open Day, Kia officially unveiled its 2030 Strategic Plan, aiming to become a global leader in sustainable mobility.

In the "2030 Strategy" released by Kia, it is mentioned that Kia will accelerate the transition to electrification.

1. It plans to sell 4 million vehicles worldwide by 2030, including more than 2 million new energy models and 1.2 million pure electric vehicles.

2. Kia's sales target for pure electric vehicles this year is 160,000 units, and 807,000 units in 2026. The sales target of 1.2 million units will be achieved by 2030.

3. By 2027, Kia will build a complete lineup of 14 pure electric models, and the flagship electric model EV9 will be the first to be launched in 2023.

4. It plans to become the world's first brand of personalized customized models (PBV) by 2030, and will launch the first personalized customized model (PBV) product in 2025.

5. Kia announced its medium- and long-term financial target at the investor conference: by 2026, total sales will reach 120 trillion won and operating margin will reach 8.3%.

In addition, Kia said that by 2030, it expects that more than 80% of its pure electric vehicle sales will come from major markets such as China, South Korea, North America, and Europe, and pure electric vehicles will account for 45% of Kia's total sales in these major markets.

Specific to the model planning, from 2023, Kia will launch at least two pure electric vehicles per year, and by 2027, it will have 14 pure electric vehicles. Compared with Kia's previous proposal to launch 11 pure electric models in 2026, Kia has added 2 new electric pickup trucks and 1 entry-level pure electric vehicle.

The EV9, the flagship electric car line, will be launched in 2023, positioning itself as a large SUV. It takes only 5 seconds to accelerate from 100 km/ h, has a full-power range of about 540 km, and can travel 100 km on a 6-minute charge.

Prior to this, Kia had announced a pure electric model, the EV6, which was positioned as a compact hatchback electric vehicle. In terms of power, the maximum power of the standard endurance two-wheel drive version is 170Ps, the maximum power of the standard endurance four-wheel drive version is 235Ps, the maximum power of the long-endurance two-wheel drive version is 228Ps, and the comprehensive cruising range of NEDC is 600km.
