On March 21, 2022, Changan UNI-V was officially launched. The new car was launched in the early stage of four models, all equipped with Blue Whale NE series 1.5T engines, priced at 108,900-131,900 yuan. The new car will also be equipped with a Blue Whale NE2.0T engine version in the later stage, matching the 8AT gearbox. All 1.5T models of the new car can support the electric rear wing.
In terms of appearance, Changan UNI-V continues the family design of the UNI sequence, using a borderless grille, and the interior decoration also has its own characteristics, which is more in line with the movement genes that manufacturers want to express.
In addition, the headlight group of Changan UNI-V does not use a split design, but is integrated inside the sharp lampshade, which is full of technology, and also integrates with the design of the entire front face, further highlighting the sports atmosphere of UNI-V.
From the side of the body, we can see that Changan UNI-V adopts the style of coupe, which is also the biggest selling point of Changan UNI-V. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4680/1838/1430mm, and a wheelbase of 2750mm. In this category, length is not an advantage, but the wheelbase is 2750mm and the body is low enough.
In addition, we can see that the new car adopts a hidden door handle, which makes the side more in line with the streamlined design of the sports car and looks more futuristic. The new high-end model uses horse-brand MC6 tires in size 235/45 R18, and the sport model offers larger 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
In the rear part, the new car adds the original electric rear wing on the basis of the slip-back shape, and all four models of the series can be matched (the excellent version needs to be optional). It is worth mentioning that UNI-V is also the first original model with a lifting tail in the Changan UNI sequence, and it is also the only mass-produced model with a rear wing in the current 100,000-150,000 yuan range car. When the tail is raised, it generates 25 kg of downforce, reducing wind resistance.
In terms of interior, the design of Changan UNI-V is more distinctive. It continues the layout characteristics of Changan UNI-K, using three LCD instrument screens (3+10.3+7 inches, from left to right) and a 10.3-inch central control screen. In addition to the screen, the entire feeling of the interior of the Changan UNI-V should also be clearly leaning towards the atmosphere of the sports car.
The new car adopts the D-type steering wheel commonly used in sports cars, and the orange stitching inside the steering wheel further strengthens the sports atmosphere in the car. In addition, the color-blocking design of the central passage of the new car has also been added to enhance the sense of sportiness in the car.
Limited by the design of the coupe-style body, the head space of the rear of the new car is not sufficient, but it is enough for family use. Thanks to the 2750mm wheelbase, the legs and lateral space in the rear of the new car have reached the best level in the same class.
In terms of power, the pre-priced version of the Blue Whale 1.5T engine announced this time, with a maximum power of 138kW and a maximum torque of 300Nm, matching the Blue Whale 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The new car features a suspension combination of front McPherson and rear multi-link.
