In the past two years, there is a very obvious trend in the tablet market, that is, both Apple and Android manufacturers have begun to advocate the "productivity" of tablets. From the computer mode to the floating keyboard, and then to the "parallel horizon" and "small window mode" of the system software, it seems that the tablet computer does not replace the traditional thin and light.
However, when I tried to use a variety of productivity-emphasizing tablets, including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, for office, I always patted my head and asked myself a question: Why don't I choose a light office with a light weight that is basically close to the weight and obviously superior? The latter can even do some editing and retouching tasks.
In fact, the tablet in my hand will only end up with two ends: either it will become an artifact of bubble noodles, or it will become a player and game console for iQiyi. "Productivity"? It looks beautiful, but in fact... A sinister question: Why should we pay for the premium of so-called "productivity"?
In this context, Lenovo released the Savior Y700 game tablet. This product does not play any "productivity" under the guise of play, is the main game performance and audio and video entertainment, but also a clear stream in the industry. Coupled with the price starting from 2199 yuan, it immediately attracted my attention with its super cost performance.
The Rescuer Y700 uses an LCD screen with 8.8 inches, 2.5K resolution (2560x1600), 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of about 500nit, and support 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Although it has a certain gap with the OLED screen in terms of specifications, this configuration is completely acceptable considering the price and the color rendering and actual look and feel of the screen.
The small size and delicacy is my first impression of the Savior Y700: it is very easy to hold with one hand, the size of 8.8 inches and the weight of 375g do not burden the wrist when playing for long periods of time, and it can be easily put into any size commuter bag when going out.
Although it belongs to the product line of Lenovo Savior, the back of the Rescuer Y700 does not choose the exaggerated lines and RGB elements of the game phone. In fact, its metal back only has THE LEGACY and Lenovo logos, the overall is very simple, and even quite a bit of "business style"! The only thing that made me "pick a thorn" was that this metallic back was quite difficult to deal with when shooting product pictures, which required me to adjust the shooting angle repeatedly (laughs).
Audio: The Savior Y700 features JBL's ultra-linear dual speakers, which support The Dolby Atmos effect with loud and non-breaking sound. The volume, lock screen, and game keys are all designed on the same side of the speaker so that users can avoid accidental touch while holding the tablet horizontally to play, and on the other hand, they will not block the speaker.
The separate "game key" can be used to call up the CPU frequency, GPU frequency, frame rate of the current screen, and SoC temperature with one click. But in my opinion, Lenovo may wish to set this function key as the entry switch of the "Savior Realm", perhaps making the user more ritualistic and immersive?
Not only playing games, since this screen of the Rescuer Y700 supports HDR10, it can play HDR video content in streaming media. Coupled with the stereo dual speakers that support Dolby Atmos, users in the B station APP can open the combination of "Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos" and enjoy a good audio-visual entertainment experience through this 16:9 2K screen.
Interface: The Savior Y700 retains the traditional 3.5mm headphone port that game users love, while the USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 high-speed interface can bring good scalability and file transfer speed. These two interfaces, one "new" and one "old", fully demonstrate that the designer has a deep understanding of the needs of the target user.
I'm especially pleased that the Savior Y700 also supports Micro SD card expansion despite its small size! In this way, users can store pictures, music and videos and other files in the TF card, which greatly saves the storage space in the machine.
In terms of performance that we care about most, the Savior Y700 uses a qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 performance triangular combination. According to our actual measurements, the native Antutu running score can easily reach 720,000 points, which is enough to cope with various types of games.
Compared with mobile phones with little space, the savior Y700 as a game tablet has a higher degree of freedom in terms of heat dissipation: the total heat dissipation area of 45357.7mm, the 8500mm VC heating board is almost more than 2 times that of the current mainstream game mobile phones; coupled with the metal border brings better heat dissipation ability, the rescuer Y700 can fully release the performance of soC without worrying about the problem of temperature wall.
Considering that the 120Hz high-brush screen used by the Savior Y700 has a very good adaptability, we mainly selected the 120-frame mode of "Glory of the King", the 90-frame mode of "Peace Elite" and the 60-frame mode of "Original God" for testing. In the test environment of room temperature of 18.4 °C, the surface temperature of the whole machine is between 18 and 21 °C, and the beast mode is turned on.

In a 30-minute test, the Rescuer Y700 was able to achieve a full frame of 89.85 frames.
And in the whole running process, 3 large cores and 1 super core are running at about 2.4GHz, and the CPU load is not high, it can be said that "Peace Elite" that handles the 90 frame mode is still very easy.
After 30 minutes of play, we measured the surface temperature of the tablet using a temperature gun, and the maximum surface temperature was only 30.4 ° C, which was stress-free for handheld games.
Then there's Glory of Kings in 120-frame mode.
In a 30-minute test, the Rescuer Y700 was able to achieve a full frame of 119.98 frames.
From the graph, when running "Glory of the King", it is mainly 3 large nuclear firepower running at full speed, and the overall CPU load is still low, which does not bring too much pressure to the rescuer Y700.
After 30 minutes of play, we measured the surface temperature of the plate using a temperature gun, and the maximum surface temperature was only 29.9 ° C, which was even lower than when running chicken.
Finally, we still have to look at the actual test performance of "Original God" that will bring higher load pressure, so we conducted a total of two rounds of testing. The first round was a 30-minute stress test to see how the Rescuer Y700 had cooling capabilities, performance scheduling, and frame rate variations during long games.
During the 30-minute game test, the Rescuer Y700 ran a full frame of 59.96 frames, and the number of stutters and the worst dropped frames were very good.
From the graph, the Savior Y700 will run at full core when running "Protoss", of which the A77 super core is maintained at 3.18GHz, the 3 large cores are maintained at 2.4GHz, and the 4 A55 small cores are maintained at 1.8GHz, which is honestly extremely rare in many gaming phones. Such a complete performance release makes the overall CPU load become very low, and it can also be more calm to deal with game tasks, and it is no wonder that it is easy to full frame.
Then we measured the surface temperature of the Rescuer Y700 with a temperature gun, and the highest temperature appeared at the SoC, and the front and back temperatures were 38.2 °C and 37 °C, respectively. Although it has risen by 20°C compared to the standing state, it is still within the acceptable range of the handheld, and considering such a radical performance release, this achievement can only be described as excellent.
This is followed by a 5-minute game test, with more frequent skill releases and character switching when completing scenes such as daily tasks and quest challenges. At this point, the Rescuer Y700 still offers an average frame rate of 58.18 frames and a worst drop frame of only 14 frames.
The fluctuation of the frame rate is also very small, and the overall performance is very good.
In addition, the Rescuer Y700 uses two AAC X-axis ultra-wide frequency linear motors, which are 3 times the vibration of conventional X-axis motors. At present, the on-site vibration sense has been adapted to mobile games such as "Glory of the King", "Peace Elite", "QQ Flying Car", etc., which will bring more three-dimensional vibration feedback in scenarios such as skill release and shooting.
In moba games such as "Glory of Kings" and "League of Legends Mobile Game", users can also open the ultra-wide field of view function and change the format ratio of the game to obtain a larger game view.
Back in the game, you can see that the vertical field of view is guaranteed to remain unchanged, and the left and right field of view are greatly expanded.
In terms of battery life and charging, the Rescuer Y700 is equipped with a large battery of 6550mAh, and with a 45W fast charge, we measured a total of 58 minutes from shutdown to full charge.
After our 2-hour B station FHD video playback, 1-hour 4K video recording and 30-minute "Peace Elite" test, the whole machine has 39% of the power left.
To sum up, as a game tablet equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, 2.5K 120Hz high-brush screen, JBL ultra-linear dual speakers, the Savior Y700 really brings games and audio and video entertainment to the extreme. It is no exaggeration to say that this 8.8-inch small size tablet is indeed quite product-oriented, and it is thought that it can meet the various needs of users who want to play games on the tablet.
What's more, considering that the tablet only has a starting price of 2199 yuan, users do not need to pay for the so-called "productivity" added value... Well, the Savior Y700 is one of my most recommended entertainment tablets at the moment, not one!
