In response to the "Ferrero chocolate suspected salmonella infection" incident, on the evening of April 9, the Weibo account @Ferrero China issued a statement: promising consumers that the full line of Kenda products produced from China and imported into Chinese mainland (including on-the-road and official channels on sale) are not related to the Belgian production plant involved and are not covered by the recall.
Recently, due to its chocolate product, Kenda Qiqu Egg, it is suspected of being associated with many cases of salmonella infection in children in Europe. On April 8, Ferrero issued a statement expressing a "sincere apology" for the Salmonella incident and saying its plant in the town of Arlon in southeastern Belgium has now suspended operations. As the investigation unfolded, Ferrero began to recall multiple products in many European countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, and the United States and Australia, involving multiple batches.
