In the global market, despite the headwinds of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BMW Group delivered 596907 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brands in the first quarter. Among them, the sales of pure electric BMW and MINI cars reached 35,289 units, an increase of 149.2% year-on-year.
According to compulsory traffic insurance data, in the first quarter of 2021, bmw group insured 2463 pure electric vehicles in the Chinese market. Based on three times the data of the same period last year, the number of insured vehicles in the first quarter of this year was close to 7500 vehicles. The number of insured vehicles in the first 1-2 months of this year was 2346 vehicles, so the number of insured vehicles in March is expected to reach 5000 vehicles, which is still considerable.

In the global market, the BMW Group will mass-produce and trial-produce 15 pure electric vehicle models this year, covering about 90% of the market segment. In addition to the BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW i3, BMW iX3 and other models that are already on the market, there are also pure electric models of the BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series and BMW X1 series. With the increase in pure electric products and the growth of demand in the market, the BMW Group plans to deliver a total of 2 million pure electric vehicles by the end of 2025.
