I don't know how many players will be playing before the season pass is released.
Half a year after its release, battlefield 2042 is in a "worse situation" – according to recent SteamCharts data, the game's lowest number of people online has hit a new low, and it has reached a miserable nine hundred or so people.
At the same time, battlefield 1, released 6 years ago, was 4 times more online.
As we all know, "Battlefield 2042" has been released in an endless stream, the player reputation is not good, a large number of game content is missing, the balance is poor, the optimization is poor, and there are many BUGs... All kinds of problems have caused Battlefield 2042 and its developer DICE to suffer a serious word-of-mouth crisis.
If most of the content that players reported that affected the game experience was fixed, then the Battlefield series, which has a large fan base, will not go so far, but the truth is that the game experience is still bad today.
In the months since the release of the game, although the official release of several fixes to remedy, some of the experience is much better than before, but poor optimization, players inexplicably ascended to the sky, shooting judgment confusion, no scoreboard and other old problems are still no different from the early days of release.
At the same time, the radical gameplay improvement of this game has dissuaded a considerable number of people, expert mode and other game that has been criticized by old fans, there is still a great controversy in the player community, but the naked eye can see the empty flat to unreal map, so that the veteran players who have always loved the realistic restoration of the battlefield series are still angry as "semi-finished products".
In terms of player reviews on Reddit, the game has "endless problems" waiting to be solved by developers.
Not long after the game's release, DICE issued a statement acknowledging the problems existing in the current game and revealing that it would solve them in three phases in the future. What's more, to reassure players, DICE has also promised to update new content in the first quarter of 2022. According to the official itself, there will be "more than 150" changes in the future.
The truth is that they didn't deliver on their promises. In addition to the above old problems, the season pass content originally scheduled for the first quarter was suddenly postponed to the summer, and players were directly trapped in the dilemma of no new content for a long time in the foreseeable future.
What is even more troublesome is that the official does not seem to fully want to accept the player's suggestions - at the end of last year, the game updated the limited-time gameplay RUSH mode, which finally won wide acclaim among players, and a large number of players proposed to the official to save RUSH, but DICE still chose to remove it after the Christmas holiday. It didn't take long for angry players and EA director Andy McNamara to engage in a war of words on social media, and while RUSH mode then returned to the game, the positions of the two sides inevitably became more and more antagonistic. Later, there was the all-platform refund petition that now has 300,000 players signed.
In March, with the number of simultaneous online players falling to two thousand, an official core feedback statement was released in an attempt to salvage the reputation. DICE was aware of some problems that needed urgent improvement, and finally gave specific solutions in this statement, such as map space, birth points far from flags, insufficient bunkers, and so on. The 3.3 version update was quickly launched, and finally added the scoreboard that the old players had in mind.
However, this update and statement seems to be only a short-lived whim - so far the game has not added a new map, the old bugs that affect the game experience have not been fixed, and the map improvements mentioned in the feedback statement have not been informed of the specific implementation date. The minimum number of online players has dropped again and again, and Battlefield 2042 seems to have reached the brink of abandonment, and even once rejected by plug-in developers.
The plugin developer suspended the plugin service for Battlefield 2042 because the cheats didn't work properly due to game performance
Not long ago, the "Battlefield" series of well-known "uncle party" Tom Henderson revealed that DICE has been working on the development of new battlefield works, although the current official still said that it will continue to improve "Battlefield 2042", but it is difficult to play the machine without worrying about the game he bought back at a high price, and will repeat the mistakes of "Battlefield 5".
It's hard to say how many players Battlefield 2042 will leave before summer arrives, and whether EA will let DICE continue to update new content for those players.
