Ding Junhui is a well-deserved leader in the field of snooker in China

The 2022 World Snooker Championships are in full swing at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. Ding Junhui, as one of the four Chinese players who entered the main tournament, played the first round of the game against karen Wilson, the strongest player in the post-90s, who ranked fifth in the world, and as a result, after two stages of the game, Ding Junhui regrettably lost 8:10 and did not make it to the round of sixteen. This result is really difficult for us to accept, Ding Junhui has worked hard for so many years, and has also achieved enviable results, just a world championship title that all snooker players dream of, to achieve their own Grand Slam ending, the majority of fans have always placed high hopes on him, again and again hope that he can win the championship, bring surprises to everyone, but hopes have been disappointed again.

Although the results of the game are not satisfactory, as a fan who loves snooker and cares about Ding Junhui, I am pleased to find that Ding Junhui has gradually come out of the sluggish state in recent years, the technical playing style has changed greatly, the entry into the game state is faster, and the psychological quality has also been improved to a certain extent. It can be said that the former snooker "Chinese Dragon" loved by the people of the whole country is gradually returning, which is gratifying and congratulatory!

Due to the poor state in recent years, Ding Junhui's world ranking has dropped to about 30, so this World Championship needs to start from the qualifiers and defeat Tian Pengfei and David Lili to enter the main tournament. But regardless of whether Ding Junhui is a seeded player or a qualifier, as long as he participates in the World Championships, the Chinese people have the hope that Ding Junhui will win the championship, because Ding Junhui, as a snooker athlete, is one world championship trophy away from winning the "Grand Slam" that all snooker players dream of. This is not only Ding Junhui's pursuit and ideal, but also the target requirements of fans who love him. At present, there are nearly 30 professional snooker players in China, and in recent years, more young players have won the ranking championship, which has greatly improved the popularity of snooker sports in China, the interest of fans is getting stronger and stronger, and there is an urgent need for a world championship champion to further enhance the attention of snooker, which can also be more conducive to the development of snooker sports in China.

The heavy responsibility of winning the world championship in snooker has always been on Ding Junhui, which is also one of the reasons why Ding Junhui has been under pressure, unstable mentality and unsatisfactory results in recent years. Ding Junhui's last championship is still the 2019 British Championship, three years ago, and all kinds of criticism around Ding Junhui in the past three years have never stopped, and it has to be said that this is the sadness of Chinese snooker fans.

I have always firmly believed that Ding Junhui is a leading figure in the field of snooker in China at all times, and his contribution to the development of the snooker movement is unparalleled in China and can be recorded in history! His achievements in China and even In Asia can be said to be unprecedented, and it is difficult to come after!

Today we will count Ding Junhui's achievements and contributions in the snooker movement.

First, Ding Junhui's career championship

Ding Junhui was born in 1987 in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, began to contact billiards at the age of eight, and won the third place in Asia invitation at the age of 13 in 2000, known as the "prodigy of billiards".

In 2002, at the age of 15, Ding Junhui won the Asian Snooker Championship, the World Youth Championship and the Asian Games Snooker Billiards Men's Singles Championship. All three champions made history and were the first in Chinese history, so the Chinese Billiards Association awarded Ding Junhui the "Chinese Billiards Special Contribution Award" in December of that year.

In September 2003, 16-year-old Ding Junhui officially turned into a professional snooker player and began to compete in the British snooker arena. In 2005, at the age of 18, he won his first ranking championship (China Open), and since then, he has won a total of 14 ranking championships in 2019, including 3 British Championships, 2 Chinese Opens, 2 Shanghai Masters, and 1 Northern Ireland Open, Welsh Open, Tour Championship, India Open, International Championship, German Masters, and World Open. He also won one Wembley Masters, one six Red Ball World Championships, two Snooker World Cup team matches, two European Players Tour Races, one Grand Finals, and won three gold medals in snooker billiards men's singles, doubles and team at the 2006 Asian Games.

Among them, the Wembley Masters, the British Championship and the World Championship are collectively called the "three major competitions" of snooker, and the players who have won the above three championships are called "Grand Slam" players. Ding Junhui is only one world champion from the Grand Slam, and it is also the heaviest one, for which Ding Junhui has been striving to pursue, but 16 times into Crucible have no success, I have to say that this is the biggest regret of his career.

Second, Ding Junhui created the first in the history of the snooker movement

(1) China's first Asian championship champion

(2) China's first World Youth Championship champion

(3) China's first Asian Games snooker billiards men's singles champion

(4) In 2006, he became the runner who won the ranking championship three times before the age of 20, the second person in history and the first person in Asia

(5) In 2009, he won the British Championship for the second time, becoming the first non-British player to win the championship twice

(6) On December 15 and 17, 2011, in the 11th and 12th stages of the Players Tour of the season, he shot two full scores of 147 in three days, becoming the first person in history

(7) In 2013, he won three consecutive ranking championships back-to-back, the first person in the world since the 21st century

(8) From 2013 to 2014, he won 5 championships in a single season, chasing the emperor of the platform ball, Henderley, and tied for the first place in history

(9) On December 3, 2014, the World Taiwan Federation announced that Ding Junhui ranked first in the season, becoming the 11th person in snooker history and the first person in Asia

(10) Since 2007, he has reached the main tournament of the World Championships for 16 consecutive times, and reached the final in 2016, becoming the first person in Asia

(11) As of this World Championship, Ding Junhui has shot 582 single shots over 100, ranking seventh in history and the first person in Asia

Ding Junhui's main contribution to the snooker movement

I believe that most snooker fans, like me, first knew Ding Junhui and witnessed Ding Junhui's excellent results before gradually understanding snooker sports. At present, there are nearly 30 professional snooker athletes in China, there are snooker billiard clubs everywhere in the country, and even snooker professional colleges (schools), countless young people chase their dreams in snooker sports, most of them are grown up and developed under the influence of Ding Junhui. In order to pursue his dreams and realize his own value, Ding Junhui has been training and competing alone in the UK for many years, unlike other sports that are cultivated by the state, which is entirely a personal act, and the hardships and hardships experienced in them are only clear to him and his family.

Ding Junhui single-handedly led the vigorous development of the snooker movement in China, making the sport enter the vision of ordinary people and saving the sport to a certain extent. Even British snooker talented athlete Ronnie O'Sullivan admitted that because of China's participation, the world snooker sport has developed to this day, and hopes that the Snooker World Championships will be held by China in the future to ensure that the sport continues to move into the future. Indeed, at present, among the professional snooker athletes in the world, most of the post-90s and post-00s players are from China, and the top performances are mostly Chinese players, Zhao Xintong, Yan Bingtao, Fan Zhengyi, Lei Peifan, etc. are outstanding representatives, and we have every reason to believe that the future of snooker sports is in China.

In recognition of Ding Junhui's contributions to the snooker movement, Ding Junhui was inducted into the Snooker Hall of Fame in May 2018 and elected to the World Snooker Council in December 2020, which is the biggest recognition of Ding Junhui's career in snooker.

With the World Championships, this season's snooker game has entered the end, there are still a few months before the start of next season, I hope Ding Junhui will make good use of this time to rest and adjust, enjoy the warmth and happiness of the family, in order to meet the next season of the game with a new look. Ding Junhui is only 35 years old this year, it is the year when professional snooker athletes should fight, "Seven Five Three Jie" has been nearly 50 years old, radish is also over 40 years old, all maintain a fairly high level of sports, I hope Ding Junhui must strengthen confidence, at the same time seriously summarize, train hard, constantly improve their competitive state, and realize their dream of winning the snooker World Championship as soon as possible.
