Last month, we covered the global launch of Maserati Grecale, which went public in the Chinese market in just one month, showing how eager Maserati expects Chinese consumers.
Starting at 638,800 yuan, Grecale has lowered the threshold for owning a Maserati once again, and has formed a direct competition with the Porsche Macan in the ultra-luxury mid-size SUV field.
Grecale launched a total of five models, including the 2.0T four-cylinder Grecane GT, Grecale Modena and Grecate GT PrimaSerie first limited edition, priced at 638,800 yuan, 738,800 yuan and 742,800 yuan respectively. The more powerful Gregare Trofeo and Gregale Trofeo PrimaSerie launched limited editions equipped with the same "Nettuno Poseidon" 3.0T V6 twin-turbo engine as the Maserati supercar MC20, and the price was raised to 999,800 yuan and 1,063,800 yuan.
The Maserati Grecale places more emphasis on power performance, with a 2.0T+48V mild hybrid powertrain with a maximum power of 300 hp (330 hp for the Grecale Modena) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm with an acceleration time of 5.6 seconds per 100 km/h (5.3 seconds for the Grecale Modena) higher than the Porsche Macan's 2.0T engine. The 3.0T V6 twin-turbo engine with 90° cylinder angle, with dual spark plug pre-combustion chamber technology (MTC) derived from F1, has a maximum power of 530 hp and a torque of 620 Nm, shortening the acceleration time from 100 km to 3.8 seconds.
While adhering to the excellent dynamic performance of Maserati models, Grecale also demonstrates the Maserati brand's pursuit of classic Italian aesthetics. In addition to the iconic trident logo on the front, C-pillar and hub center, Grecale's styling is inspired by many of Maserati's classic models, including the first generation of Ghibli's unique T-shape architecture, 3200 GT boomerang taillights, etc., and modern design details, combining sporty style with the brand's classic elements.
In terms of interior design, Grecale emphasizes a modern and innovative style, including the elimination of physical buttons on the central control panel and the traditional gear lever, the expansion of storage space in the central armrest area, and the addition of a wireless charging area for mobile phones. At the top of the central control screen, a new smart clock is also used for the first time, which can choose the theme interface of the surface according to personal preferences, and can also be used as a compass and a gravimeter.
The Grecale is a medium-sized SUV with a body length, width and height of 4846mm/1948mm/1670mm, which is slightly larger than the Audi Q5L, and the 2901mm wheelbase provides a comfortable and spacious rear seating space. It is worth mentioning that on the first limited edition of GT Prima Serie with a limited edition of 128 units, two exterior colors of hao blank and deep sea blue can be selected. Inside the cockpit, the design will be deep ocean blue painted with black leather and blue stitching, while upgrades include sporty 14-way electric seat adjustment with driving position memory, front seat heating, perforated Radica wood interior, panoramic sunroof, ambient mood lights (instrument panels and door panels), three-zone automatic air conditioning (with rear touchscreen control), and more.
The Trofeo PrimaSerie debuted in a limited edition of 10 units and is available in three exterior colors: GT red (Rosso Granturismo), frosted lava ash (Grigio Lava Opaco) and Giallo Corse ( Giallo Corse ) , as well as upgraded comfort features including a color HUD head-up display system and anti-infrared heat insulation windshield.
From Levante to Grecale, Maserati has further broadened the ultra-luxury SUV market with the brand's unique Italian art style and extreme performance driving passion, but it has not set too high a price threshold, and it is foreseeable that this model with ultra-high brand value, strong driving performance and ultra-luxury driving experience will be welcomed by more users.
