Arsenal plan to sign two goalscorers in the summer window, hoping to bring in locally trained players.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Arsenal were interested in signing two goalscorers in the summer window to replace Aubameyang and the other departing centre-forwards. At the end of the season, both Nketiah and Lacazette's contracts will expire.
That's not the only place Arsenal want to reinforce. The Daily Telegraph also mentioned a midfielder and a left-footed defender. But the center is clearly a priority.
The same report hinted that Arsenal wanted to bring in homegrown players.
Arsenal currently have only five homegrown players, Dinzey, Holden, Nketiah, Ramsdale and Ben White. This is also the reason why the existing lineup is relatively small. In addition, both Dinzei and Nketiah may leave the team in the summer window.
Next season Arsenal will have some players coming into the ranks of homegrown developers. For example, Smith Rowe, who will no longer belong to the U21 category, will be counted as a local player.
U23 players such as James Olyinka, Swanson and George Luiz will also get rid of the U21 label.
There are also a number of homegrown players on loan, including Bellerin, Niles, Nelson, Ballard, Orsay Tutu and Matthew Smith (Balogon and Salibba will still be under the U21 next season).
But how many of these players will make it into the Premier League squad next season?
Holden, White, Ramsdale, Smith-Royce plus two youth players or loan players may be the limit, which is 6 players.
According to the rules of the Premier League, a team can only have 17 non-local players over the age of 21, so unless there are 8 locally trained players, there will be a gap in the 25-man squad.
The addition of two top local development players will enrich Arteta's options for next season.
On Friday morning, John Juru became another veteran gunner visiting Arsenal.
Arsenal posted a message on social media confirming Thatu had visited the club on Friday, accompanied by video footage of Xhaka talking to the Swiss national team's former team-mate.
Juru confirmed hanging up his boots last summer after playing for Danish side North Zealand. At the end of his career, Arsenal remained his longest-running team, making 144 appearances.
In the first two seasons after joining Arsenal as a youth player in August 2003, he witnessed the club win the Premier League title, Community Shield and FA Cup title with an unbeaten record.
He has since gone through more difficult times, but even after leaving the team, he still maintains his love for the club. He often expresses positive messages on social media about the club and the current players.
Juru is one of many former Arsenal players who have recently returned to visit or work at the club, including Arteta, Edu, Medsack, Wilshire, Himan, Sanchez Watt and Muamba.
