After the new car was released, I roughly looked at the online information, and there was not much discussion about the Severnza model itself, but there was a lot of debate about whether the motorcycle Molini was Borgward in the motorcycle circle.
In fact, on the eve of the Beijing Motorcycle Expo last year, the first model of X-CAPE was equipped with a Spring Wind 650cc engine, and public opinion began to question the motorcycle Molini, and it was generally believed that Zhejiang Zhongneng Group, which acquired 100% of the equity of Molini, was once again playing "Borgward's routine".
After all, for Moto Morini, who has a long history and has competed with Ducati, the first model in the Chinese market is a spring wind engine, which is completely under the guise of a high banner to harvest "leeks" or fool people.
I don't particularly agree with this view for two reasons:
On the one hand, whether it is X-CAPE, or the newly listed Severnzao, although they use the Spring Wind 650 engine, the pricing of these two cars is still very conscientious, and it is also in line with the principle of a domestic car that has always been cost-effective, and "cutting leeks" refers to relying on brand awareness to set a high price (motor Morini twin-cylinder X-CAPE starts at 45,880 yuan, single-cylinder infinity 650DS starts at 43,800 yuan, and the twin-cylinder infinity 500AC is priced at 34,980 yuan, with a larger displacement. The higher configuration of Severnza costs 42,800 yuan, which is also completely justified).
On the other hand, Motor Morini has not really "collapsed" like Borgward, so even if it is now acquired by Chinese companies, it cannot be said to be "resurrected", but only the transfer of brand ownership. And Motor Morini has its own foundry and a complete R&D team in Italy, which is completely absent from the original "Borgward".
Objectively speaking, at the 2021 Beijing Motorcycle Exhibition, X-CAPE is very eye-catching, as an ADV, X-CAPE coordinated proportions, wildness has no lack of exquisite design, which is beyond the reach of all domestic rally cars, and this is precisely the embodiment of whether a brand has design skills.
Let's talk about Severnza, positioning modern retro style models, the design is also quite amazing, and the configuration is armed to the "teeth", for example, the frame uses a chrome-molybdenum alloy frame, the rear rocker arm is made of aluminum alloy, the front 120mm stroke KYB inverted shock absorption has a multi-segment adjustable function, the rear side 118mm stroke KYB shock absorption also has multi-segment adjustable functions, the front brake is Brembo four-piston brake caliper with 298mm floating dual disc, The rear brake side is Brembo's opposing dual-piston calipers, with a Bosch 9.1 dual-channel ABS as standard, a Japanese F.C.C sliding clutch, and a DID chain.
In addition, the instrument is a 5-inch TFT meter, which can be interconnected with the mobile phone, and can realize the screen projection function, and can complete the operation of navigation, telephone prompts and other functions.
Severnza's fly in the ointment, or the only bug, is the 650cc engine powered by the Spring Wind. Many people's impression of this engine does not seem to be good, and one netizen complained that as a former owner of NK650, he will never buy this engine again in this life.
Asking friends in the circle and some interviews with individuals, everyone has a grudge against this 650cc engine, mainly because the early NK650 is indeed very general. And the reason for this is that everyone understands that the NK650 is in reverse of the Kawasaki ER6N, including this 650cc displacement engine.
Chunfeng NK650 has been on the market for 11 years, that is to say, this engine has been sharpened in the hands of Chunfeng for 11 years, and even the CL-X 700cc engine is also expanded from this engine, so the current stability is completely unnecessary.
It is biased to deny a car or a brand because of a domestic engine. You know, a few days ago, Xiangshuai Cangyun 500 was listed, one to one to reproduce the Honda CM500, many people jumped out of the "applause", and said that the listing of the Cangyun 500 of 28800 yuan made people see how fierce Honda's "cutting leeks" was.
Interestingly, the engine of the Cangyun 500 uses an infinity KE500 engine, and this engine is the engine on the opposite Honda CM500 with an actual displacement of 471cc. You can give a voice to the outright copycat, but spray on the motormobile Molini that adheres to the original design and only uses a domestic engine.
For a motorcycle, the engine is indeed important; but this matter also needs to be rationally viewed, manufacturers are very cautious about the external procurement of engines, which is bound to be considered from all aspects such as engine performance, quality, cost and vehicle development standards. For a simple example, the Spring Wind NK650 accelerates by 4.3 seconds from 100 kilometers, while Severnza's 100 kilometers accelerates by 4.1 seconds, which is the "result" of different vehicle and engine tuning.
There is nothing wrong with Moto Molini being an Italian brand, but the new car uses a Chinese brand engine, and the pricing is also the price range of domestic cars, which is an honesty. In my opinion, the person we should laugh at most with our middle finger should be the xiangshuai who "has no bottom line in the cottage", rather than the motorcycle Morini who makes a car steadily.
