On February 9, US time, Liu Yi, a doctoral student in vocal performance in the United States, successfully completed her doctoral lecture concert Lecture recital. Liu Yi admits that he has gained a lot in the process of exploring and singing art songs with Goethe's poetry as the theme. Feener, a vocal music doctoral supervisor, and my classmates and friends from the school!
Liu Yi is currently studying in the Vocal Opera Department of the UMC Conservatory of Music in the United States, and has studied at the China Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Conservatory of Music and other well-known art colleges.
In 2010, Liu Yi was admitted to the China Conservatory of Music with honors, where he studied under Professor Meng Fanhong. In 2015, he was admitted to the Cleveland Conservatory of Music in the United States to pursue a master's degree in "Vocal Opera Performance", where he studied under The New York Metropolitan tenor and the famous vocal educator Clifford Billions, and received a generous scholarship.
In 2012, he won the Silver Medal in the Vocal (Bel Canto) Category of the 4th Singapore International Chinese Music Competition, the Bronze Medal of the 1st Asian International Vocal Competition, and the Excellence Award of the China-Korea International Vocal Competition (China Regional Selection Competition). From 2010 to 2013, he participated in many art practice concerts at the China Conservatory of Music as a soloist. In 2022, he won the third place in the International Vocal Competition for Young Musicians in the United States and the fourth place in the 2022 London International Classical Vocal Competition.
