Wuhan, May 1 (Xinhua) -- "Life should be like a candle, burning from the top to the end, it has always been bright." This is the life concept of Xiao Chu's female martyr. His life, like a "red candle" that never goes out, burned himself out of the light and ignited the flame of a large revolution.
Xiao Chunu, born in 1893 in Hanyang, Hubei Province, was originally named Shu Lie, and her scientific name was Chu Ru, a famous theoretician, educator and proletarian revolutionary in the early days of the Communist Party of China.
During the Wuchang Uprising in 1911, Xiao Chunu joined the Defense of Yangxia. After the Xinhai Revolution, he entered the Wuchang Industrial School to study, and after graduation, he served as an editor in "Dahan Bao" and "Chongde Bao", often publishing articles under the pseudonym of "Chu Nu", and from then on, he began to use the pen in his hand as a weapon to gallop across the public opinion front, propagating Marxism-Leninism and the truth of saving the country and the people, and exposing the crimes of imperialism and feudalism.
Xiao Chunu successively engaged in revolutionary work in Hubei, Anhui, Sichuan, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places. At the beginning of 1920, he joined the "Liqun Book Society" founded by Yun Daiying in Wuhan and began to embark on the road of organized struggle. In June 1923, he served as the chief writer of the "New Shu Bao" in Chongqing, and wrote a large number of political and editorial articles. At the same time, he often writes for The Guide and Chinese Youth.
His articles, sharp in writing, strong in combat, and spearheaded, were either "accusing the local chieftains and warlords or cursing corrupt officials and corrupt officials."Even the newspapers and periodicals controlled by the reactionaries had to praise Xiao Chunu's article as "words in the wind and thunder, sound into golden stones."
In August 1924, Xiao Chunu was appointed as the special commissioner of the CPC Central Committee in Sichuan, leading the revolutionary struggle between the Chongqing Socialist Youth League and Sichuan, and in October organized the Sichuan Civilian Society and published the journal "Yaoguang". After Dai Jitaoism came out in June 1925, he wrote a book called "The National Revolution and the Chinese Communist Party" to refute Dai Jitao's attacks and slanders against the Communist Party. He also wrote an essay criticizing the nationalist faction.
After January 1926, Xiao Chunu went to Guangzhou to serve as an officer of the Propaganda Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee, a professor of the Political Workshop of the Chinese Kuomintang, and a political instructor at the Whampoa Military Academy. In April 1927, Xiao Chunu was arrested in a counterrevolutionary massacre in Guangzhou and killed in prison on April 22, at the age of 34.
Xiao Chunu once described her outlook on life as a "candle outlook on life" and encouraged herself in this way. Before his death, when he was working with illness at the Agricultural Research Institute and the Whampoa Military Academy, he said: "Students, do you think candles can not shine light?" To be a human being is also like a candle, in a limited life there is a point of heat and a point of light, to give people light, to give people warmth. ”
"He studied tirelessly, became self-taught, and became an outstanding theoretician, thinker, and orator in the early days of our party." Zhang Fan, inspector of the Party History Research Office of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, said.
The original site of Xiao Chunu's former residence is located in Yangsi Port, Hanyang District, Wuhan City. Nowadays, the infrastructure construction of the hero's hometown is changing with each passing day, and a large number of projects and plans to improve people's livelihood and stimulate the economy are landing here.
In order to disseminate party history more widely, the Party History and Culture Department of Hanyang District of Wuhan City has compiled a set of "Hanyang Stories" in the form of a series of comic strips in recent years, and the story of Xiao Chunu is among them. Xiao Chunu's "red candle" will always shine on people's hearts.
