According to reports, the Xpenghuitian flying car Voyager X2 flew at an altitude of 50 meters, multiple sets of large parachutes quickly ejected and deployed, X2 slowly descended, and landed smoothly at a grounding speed of 5.2 meters / s, and the body was intact.
Xpeng Huitian said that the safety equipment development team began to independently develop the whole machine multi-umbrella lifesaving system in 2021, and the self-developed multi-umbrella lifesaving system installed in this test has a maximum carrying capacity of 1 ton, with ultra-low altitude umbrella opening, combined multi-umbrella, redundant system architecture, embedded safety life-saving display and control panel and other pioneering features.
The technology supports ultra-low altitude parachute opening below 50 meters, which can be applied to fixed-wing aircraft, new vertical take-off and landing aircraft, etc.; It adopts modular and quick-release design, supports multi-umbrella distributed installation layout, and supports joint triggering with other safety life-saving equipment (such as the whole machine buffer airbag).
In addition, as a special life-saving equipment, the electrical, control, propulsion and other functions of the equipment adopt multi-channel system safety design, and consider the fault isolation from the rest of the key airborne equipment.
The equipment also comes with a safety life-saving display and control panel, with self-test warning, life maintenance, parameter setting, software and hardware upgrades and other functions.
As reported by IT House earlier this year, the Xpenghui Sky Traveler X2 obtained a charter flight certificate issued by the Central and South Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China, and the Voyager X2 became the first manned eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) product in China to apply and be successfully approved.
